There's 31m high risk on the list. (General news)
The NHS say they can administer 2m a week "subject to supply". Which most of the press seem to think is the issue. No-ones saying yet how long that many doses will take to supply from Oxford/AZ.
31m/2m + 3 weeks for the last people vaccinated to be effective=18 and bit say 19 weeks. Not close to 2m does/week at the moment. Say best case 21 weeks. ie end of May.
Agree about holding, good chance to lower the average before the trains off.

Its several stages for me.
1. Trading update with good insurance numbers-tick up
2. More visibility of vaccine availability and vaccination plan/rates. Leading to a date for the 9 groups of priority candidates to be done
3. Item 2 leads to a date for cruise re start approval-tick up.
4. Trading updates give the picture of numbers including cruise. Hopefully tick up.
5. Resumption of dividend tick up. By now we are into 2022 imho.
6. SAGA LTH live happily ever after.

Unfortunately, we ain't gonna move significantly until a)results to assess the level of pain from 2020 relative to predicted and then b) a firm date for return to cruise/travel insurance sales the whole package. ie the fully leveraged productive business.
So on this evenings briefing, when asked about the speed of vaccine delivery,, the blonde buffoon stated "the tunnel is shorter because we're all great" But actually I don't know when we get to the end of that, and get to the light at the end of it...cut-off and changed the subject.
Until they set out what is actually available, and how it is going to be delivered and at what rate we're going to have to be patient We can have as many super vaccines as we like-but if no one will say when they are going to be out there, its slow going.

Well its going up at the moment and there are only 2 full and 2 x 1/2 days trading to go before we get the trading update? But ok.

Yes, you're definitely correct. My fault originally, as I was not calling it Impairment of goodwill, I used the term negative as it was a minus number on the sheet.
There is a negative goodwill but that is when you buy something which is say in receivership, and then rolls into consideration of the tax position.

So Impairment (as used in the annual report) is the correct term.

I googled it a lot earlier this year and then gave up after finding even specialist accountancy Q and A sites with accountants arguing amongst themselves.... Banbury would know but its non cash balance sheet impairment, sort of like pesky depreciation...possibly!
Essentially they bought something that turned out to be worth a lot less, but beyond that its Banbury again please!!

All, the 80% figure sounds like something I was banging on about a long time back.
2019 Annual report p38. Underlying PBT Insurance 192m Travel 21m
2020 Annual report p35. Underlying PBT Insurance 131m Travel 20m
Thats more than 80% mind.
And then that is taken down by exceptionals and of course my old favourite negative goodwill.
Underlying profit therefore not zero-if it was that would be the end of that.
As Banbury notes the end of the goodwill issue will make thing look a lot better!

Yeah just time as the variable.
No issue re the multibag-its my largest position also currently.
As I posted a long time back, I have close friends who have worked for either RDH or ES. To be fair I rate both of their opinions, and they were both positive. I would echo what someone else said on here mind you. ES is going to need to be at the top of his game for sure as RDH is all over everything.
Lets hope the roll out goes better than I fear!
