I was merely pointing out that based on the history, of both COST and peer, it's entirely new territory. Unfortunately, the 2019 report does not say what value these higher margin consultancy activities were out of the total sales. That would be interesting to know. Because bearing in mind a large %age of the current turnover is labour plant and materials (albeit mostly bundled into subcontracts) and which is where the pain is, you could then see how much more consultancy and digital would be required to get to those overall figures.
Re your other post by an estimating software firm arguing that estimating is the problem, that the main contractors would be better served stopping subcontracting their bread and butter and keeping the inherent margins for themselves. See LOR>
