Crusty I get your thinking on trapped gas but was it not mentioned they think they may have tapped into what was termed a a superhighway migration system? There was talk of potential never ending supply. Maybe that is the reason for extending into lower faults. As they said it is an unconventional play so learning all the time. Exciting times.

A reminder of what they found in the upper part of this well, let's hope for more of the same and hopefully even better coming from the new targeted faults.

"The well has been successfully drilled to 961m MD and has reached its TD in granitic Basement. The well encountered elevated helium shows, over twenty times above background, whilst drilling through the Lake Beds Formation, Red Sandstone Group, Karoo and Basement targets. Elevated readings and an increased frequency of helium shows were encountered whilst drilling through the faulted zone.

An increase in temperature was also recorded which suggests the movement of deeply sourced fluids migrating along the fault, which is likely liberating the helium. The helium readings were measured from the drilling mud using the Micro Gas Chromatograph and validated using the onsite portable Mass Spectrometer.

In addition to helium, the well has encountered a high concentration of hydrogen in the Lake Beds Formation over a 6m interval. Hydrogen shows continued to be encountered throughout the Karoo section and into Basement."

To commit to an environmental study over a six months period taking in two rainy seasons is bloody expensive.

When a company hasn't really got cash to spare beyond what it needs to do then they would need to be pretty damn confident of achieving their aims.

Maybe wrong but with UKOG currently tipping 220% gain, I see money coming out of there later and a scramble to get back in here this afternoon knowing the TD could be reached sometime today and some preliminary figures could come from the real time testing that's being done on the way down. Nothing is guaranteed but while the hot money is there right now we are well into a 2 day drill and those that shifted there money will be back when the heat dies down.

Ukog just bagged today so I expect a drop there soon as people take profit. Bring it back to momma, this could still do very well today.

Helium is flowing upon re-entry and I'm not sure anyone has read this properly. I think there might have been a stronger reaction if they had.

Repeat - Helium is flowing upon re-entry. It's not gone anywhere which is a very positive sign to me

I'm not going to argue over 2 days of drilling, but the importance of my post is not to get people's hopes up of getting information to soon. They said the operation was four to six weeks and therefore I won't be worrying myself uness we don't hear anything within the six weeks. As I said anything earlier is a bonus but I'm not banking or getting hyper on it and neither should anybody else.

There will be nobody happier than me if it comes as early as you portray but you know what happens if people start expecting a date and don't receive on time. The traders will wipe the floor on fear.

Now is the time for patience.

I would always argue not to start complaining until after the longest date has been reached which means six weeks after TD. Anything sooner would be a bonus.
