Let's face it, if I told folk a fan belt had broke or the engine was fooked, which would worry people more.

Nothing breaking on the machine worries me as it can be repaired, what worries me is the over reaction and the lies to create fear and that is the reason I sold a tranche at the time.

The inevitable drop occurred and then the lies began and will no doubt continue until it the bit is turning again.

TL the only way you can know that is via inside information from company or supply chain. You say it with such confidence that it is hard to disbelieve. My own early thoughts were clutch mechanisms following the restarting of the drill after the string was raised as we saw in the images. I'm inclined to accept your claim as you back it up with the information about the supply network and not just a gear raiser. Thanks

I have no problem with discussion, I have an issue with blatent lies, stating that inferring IT IS an engine failure when you haven't got a clue. I was an apprentice trained HGV mechanic and there is categorically no way you can come to that conclusion from the information supplied.

It may possibly be an engine failure, but as I said yesterday there are 101 things that could go wrong in the drive train that cause a power failure. Cut the BS and you won't get complaints. You bring it on yourself. I have better things to do, but I wont sit by while you tell lies.

When a man tells the world we have engine problems at least twice that I have seen, he is deliberately misleading this bb and its readers. DJ I understand the potential losses of a wrong call at harvest time, but have felt the results of the overhyping of bad weather on many occasions. What I'm concerned with constant fear mongering that afgects the wider economy and even the markets we are invested in. Farmers understand what a wet and windy spell means and don't need the hype so why do we need name a storm making people think they will loose roofs of their houses. Where is Agnes? Dai the point it, though it is related to the power output, it can be anything from a broken drive train, to a fuel pump. The power train is not just the engine, there are 101 things it could be so it mustn't be spoken about in a way that assumes it is the engine.

The area most affected by the short rains are south west of the country and are not as some believe a continuous downpour. A bit like we have known April showers it is just a heavier version.

The only real concern for me is the state of the roads between the well pads, as that could (note, only could) affect transportation of rig and then crew commutes. However we have seen the pictures of the second well pad road construction which has clearly been built to take the heavy tonnage required.

A concern, but I don't think a major one, however as someone suggested in recent days, the second drill is irrelevant as it is all binary on the first. I don't happen to agree with that, but if that be the case, then why all if a sudden does it matter 🤔

By the time they arrive the mechanic will be completely prepared for installation. A truck engine would usually take around a week to strip and rebuild with parts available. As that is perhaps unlikely the case, anything else should take less time

As I said yesterday let's see what the fear campaigns bring over the next week. It's started already.

If your are mechanically minded you would realise losing power is caused by an electrical or mechanical fault and that tech sheet gives nothing. A schematic breakdown of parts might help to see where possible breakages might occur, but without that there is nothing to go on.

You know already we haven't been told the parts required, but it sounds to me like a drive system failure which could be as simple as a chain or a more serious gearbox failure.

If it is the latter, then the mechanic would have been stripping it down to find the relevant part/s

It will be nothing new to these mechanics and it's all down to supply time logistics and available stock, so not worth worrying about, what will be will be.

Actually guys Devon is right in the aspect of not having to pay down time for the rig. Sadly there is the crew and services down time to pay for. So its in their best interest to find the parts quickly and ship them in fastest method. Cost benefit analysis would probably suggest flying them in depending on weight
