Drilling a well is a complex engineering project using heavy machinery that some times misbehaves. The foolish don't understand that and therefore don't know what they have got themselves into, they can therefore be forgiven for what many would term silly questions, but there is no excuse for the experienced O&G investor to be constantly asking repetitive questions equivalent to "Are we nearly there yet Dad"

I'm afraid I'm the same, manufacturers cover everything up with lumps of plastic these days and for parts exchange they have often made them accessible via their own expensive tooling to keep the work within their dealership networks.

Thankfully for the public, vehicles are much more mechanically reliable these days, with the complex electrics beging as big an issue as others, at least as far as I've read in recent years. In fact I had some warning light issues recently which were resolved simply by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery which rebooted the onboard computer.

Total guess, but the fear of escalation might just push it up

you are not wrong dj and for the mechanic back then is was a lot more rewarding after you had for instance gone on a lathe and turned a replacement part or fashioned a new mud wing from a piece of metal in the blacksmiths shop. though i am no expert in all aspects (a pigeon **** welder for instance 🤣) the knowledge gained during my time and the logical mind required was the best grounding i could have ever wished for in life. in the many years since i left the trade i can count the number of times i've had to pay a tradesman for me on one hand.

that independence is a good feeling and while the modern technicians have to be more up-to-date with computerised fault finding etc, i wonder how much personal satisfaction from not finding it by systematic trial and error for themselves? different world nowadays my friend 🙂

Wyn I agre we all have our own opinions and should be allowed to express them however you know as well as I do that is not my point. Blatent lies are misleading and told for deceptive reasons. They are not acceptable and they are against the T&Cs of this platform and I therefore would not expect you or anybody else to be defending those that do so. I'll leave it there.

He may or may not get one last trade, but I'm confident that from the end of November we will hear less and less from him as a steady stream of positive news begins to flow.

I really thought the last rise to 1.4 would be his last opportunity, but he might get one more given last weeks rise and we are three weeks away from the Sultans projection of all signatures being completed on everything.

Once that comes price growth should be more sustainable.

DJ you have it right and cover pretty much what I have been saying in recent days while trying to steer people away from foolish fear mongering claims. In the end it really doesn't matter what it is, but anyone being told the engine has packed up will psychologically think the worst, which in my opinion is the aim of such misleading claims.

Also, yes the mechanic would most certainly replace consumable items during a strip down of any kind and as you say during any down tine I would expect maintenance and inspection to be done.

Although in my day we were trained to repair, as was done by independents, because I worked for a large fleet covering over 1000 vehicles, we became fitters of new parts rather than repairing old because the time off the road repairing was becoming more expensive than the new parts.
