RE: It was a ramp... it was a good ramp, but it was a ramp!14 Oct 2024 16:27
It won't matter how long a national roll out takes. If one is confirmed then that's the income guaranteed and those who invest earliest will reap the greatest rewards. It's this whole issue of sales that isn't being confirmed anywhere just yet that is holding back the sp. Anything that moves GDR closer to a national roll out either within Scotland or England, or FDA approval, or indeed to any significant degree in a foreign territory will ring the bell for time on the sp sitting at these levels. It will also sound something of a clarion call to the big pharmas who will have no problem being patient and paying £50m for something which in another 2 or 3 yrs time will be netting them as much as £200m - £300 m each and every year from there on in. But of course that's only one aspect of why GDR will be an attractive morsel for the pharmas: GDR has the IP and the technical know how on how to develop many more tests for the future.
Someone actyally posted earlier today that GDR's R & D spend will reduce once these two tests are approved. it asbolutely 100% will NOT reduce. It will increase hugely as they'll be far more confident on having the financial muscle to pay for their scientists to come up with as many tests as possible that will hopefully be as needed as these current tests everyone is interested in. Pharmacogenetics is the new thing and two tests are just the very tip of the iceberg. Globally with a market potential of £200m - £300m and just two tests. How good would GDR start to look with 10 or so tests? Or 20 or 50?
The only thing stopping this flying now is the lack of confirmation of significant sales anywhere. When the right RNS lands all hell will break loose.
