getting far more than I expected out of it,im never trading spy again or the ftse.

just a quickie though ,don't expect much,even though ive been trading 4h on dow I have been using 1h for heads up and now I find myself trading 1h more and more,what were spikes on 4h actually look like something on the 1h.

morning all,re tight stops,for me the hardest and most frustrating part of trading,how many good trades have we all had stopped out,still learning at trying to get the balance correct.have my sister from Australia and grandchildren visiting for a week so golfs off for now.

higuys quick hello before second round of golf,well done on barc f430,yesterday had couple of short term trades on spy,think I may have got to grips with why I struggle with it more than the dow,because of its volatility it makes more sense on the 1hr,glencore short glinging on by skin of its teeth,few bob down on that ,will see what happens its almost at stop and I aint moving it,still struggle with miners think im going to have to give them up,my lists are getting smaller.

hi farmer yep 27 holes in summer when im off work,then few beers,great life isn't it.

done it,im actually not very good at the moment timing the miners,i often see something but am a couple of days out,so did wait another day this time.

morning all miners looking maybe bit iffy on the sector chart,keeping an eye on shorting glencore maybe.

don't very often set limit orders but just done one for spy short at 1629.just short term.

12hshifts last two days with lovely weather outside,interested to see if Dow reacts to that 15042 fib retracemant ,all this bullishness is doing wonders for my pension plans,off tomorrow and Thursday so golf and dealing,which is what I'm planning for in 4 years.i know Paul trades the US share,I really enjoy it and do ok,I think there are so many TA guys dabbling that its slightly more predictable than here.

Thing for me with spy and Dow is trying to pick when they've absorbed the news or data,we never really got that on Friday with markets close,spy didn't retrace much Dow did,the jobs number though unexpected wasn't a life changer,I'm 12h on Monday so will have to see how it all settles.

opened a long at us opening VLO one of my yank favs,actually only traded it once but it was a good one,noticed it didn't gap up on opening and noticed the yanks like to look for something they havnt missed out on,statemant asnt too clever the other day so not going to hold past tonight,about 80 pips up at the mo,limit sell on gap fill if it gets there.

that 4h closed above dr3 anything could happen,thats why I wasn't looking to short yet,just chart watched this so often.and don't want to be holding over weekend anyway.

15042 is where I have a fib expansion,it often is used for profit taking also the end of the 4h candle is often a turning point here imo.

scubaz,maybe but im not risking it,i really wouldn't have thought it will go any higher but big news days have surprised me to often in the past,its definitely a low risk trade if you have a stop above dr3 and in hindsight if I wouldn't have been in bull mode all day I may be looking at it with a clear head.

that's another lesson learnt,i had my take profit level too modest on the remainder of the dow long,next time on nfp figures will have to just watch for a few minutes.

morning all last nights post was after 27 holes and few beers,re trying to trade results day,that rbs candle today is as bonkers as lloy was last week,im sure somebody knows how to make money from them,the thing ive noticed is an over reaction then retrace after the first 30m or so,but then barc kept going so think I,ll give those type trades a miss,tiny bit still running on dow,hope it holds until the coin flips at 1.30.

yep well done farmer,went bigger with dow long from last night,was kaking myself all day nearly all taken as profits but I think its done now so just a little bit still left running,im going to have to be more used to to bigger position,just hard,for me even after making so much today,i just think what if it went wrong even though ive had lots of success dow and spy last few months,suppose all part of the learning curve

Morning all Golf all day for me,weather great and still no wind,f430 went long Dow last night and woken up to decent profit,I have started to think the same about concentrating mostly there as you do gold,I had a few months chart watching it on 4h on my many days off and got a bit of a feel for it.

gone long apple instead,done ok with this so far,especially now I know not to but on far more than I first thought.
