I did think LG's original intention was to merge their VM with ITV.
But the world has changed a lot over the past 5 years.
It's now all about traditional Broadcaster consolidation.
LG are doing this in the US with the merger of Discovery with WB TV.
In theory ITV would now be better suited to the new Discovery/WB TV but I also believe LG realise in today's market they would need to pay a significant premium to ensure they were successful.
I believe ITV will get acquired soon but I am not sure it will be bought by LG.
LG never overpay and I can't remember them ever getting into a competitive bidding situation?

I think GS will stand back.
LG now have their 9.9% as real shares at a lower price after benefiting from both Brexit and Covid.
GS were employed by LG as we all know - So it’s job done.

I am sure they will beat all estimates.

To be fair the whole TV advertising market has recovered to beyond pre-pandemic levels even channels with no Euros.
The growth in digital media has been curtailed- still growing but certainly curtailed some major advertisers seek greater accountability/ transparency.
Also outdoor advertising has been slow to recover.

I think they are unlikely to give full year forecasts but concentrate on H1 and possibly comment on Q4?
I would not be surprised to see them using 2019 as the base at least in the commentary.
They gave Q2 advertising revenue forecasts back in their May trading statement.
I believe they will comfortably beat those forecasts by at least 10% - possibly more as some of their monthly forecasts had a range ie min 10% from top of their range.

I am ignoring the phasing on programming revenues from studios - that’s impossible to predict.
So only tracking all advertising revenues

I think the numbers will even be an improvement against the same period 2019.
Certainly expected low single digit growth against 2019 full and half year - full year really depends on pandemic!

Disintegration of Opec+ was the concern - extension to end of 2022 is excellent news.
