I asked the question but was told it was highly unlikely to be a MM - As MMs trade between themselves when there is an in balance almost the MMs and are not very active in FTSE shares.

Should be ‘distressed seller’ not ‘distressed sell’

Effectively a distressed sell will sell what they can sell and not necessarily what they want to sell!

Spoke to a broker who thought there was a distressed seller in a few FTSE stocks tonight.
Many prices marked down on high volume in UT. His only observation was that it was unusual to find a buyer of that size usually they don’t get traded!

To be fair most UT trades were marked down due to possible Wall St sell off but the volume?

I can't image why the last day of Nov is so significant but I don't think a 40m+ UT at 2.2pts below the normal day closing trade is a good thing?

But why put 41+m into one day's auction?
