Sorry but I allowed to change my mind.
I believe in the investment case but worry about the macro economics.
I post on these BBs as an investor looking for alternative view points.
This BB is currently extremely bullish (dangerously bullish IMO).
I have a position going into the weekend.
I intend to hold into Thursday.
If the company’s announcement is greeted with enthusiasm by the markets I intend to add but if not will either hold or sell.
I anticipate on Thursday we either drop but hopefully not below 70p or rise possibly to 110p??.
In the subsequent days this will either drop into the mid 50s or rise back into the 120s.
Absolutely nothing was ever certain with THG and with this current economic outlook and consumer squeeze things are even less certain today.
THG was undervalued in the world of 2019,2020(even with a pandemic), 2021 but in the world of 2022?????
I hold but I am concerned about Thursday.

Slightly less each time.
Costly exercise but could have cost more if just held.
Like catching a falling knife.
The trouble now is the macro economic world has now caught up with the originally low valuation - the shorts unexpectedly got lucky.
Today is a high inflation, higher interest rate, lower growth more uncertain world.
Even worse the credit markets are frozen.
Markets everywhere are now rewarding certain profitability.
THG was an under appreciated loss making growth company but now losses will grow and growth will contract..
Yes I am worried.

2022 Margins are also going to be lower than forecasted back in Jan due to unexpected commodity (Whey) and transportation costs? - c.30-35% higher.
That’s in addition to any growth reduction?
Add to that the fact that capital raising markets are also currently frozen due to the war and everything looks uncertain.
I will certainly be waiting to see what happens on Thursday before adding.

No strategic update on 21st

They are trying to improve their credibility with the City and investors.
They will issue an RNS with a date/time first then the results/outlook (and hopefully a strategy update) at the time/day already indicated.
That’s also been confirmed on the emails sent to various investors on this board.

Sadly as it was an ordinary trade it could have been a buy or sell, traded any day recently, on any exchange LSE, broker pool etc or even an amalgamation of many smaller hedge fund trades.
O trades are just booked not necessarily traded on the LSE.
O trades (off book) are always best ignored.

The difficulty is that they have no leverage over PWC - They can’t fire them at the moment anyway.

They have one last chance to get this right so you can’t blame them for using the time they have.
Unexpectedly they now have until the end of June.

I suspect SFOR originally pressurised PWC into a short extension and that’s the issue.

The only really thing that makes sense of this is that PWC are completely dysfunctional?
SFOR are right - If it there was anything more to this mess they would have to disclose.

I hadn’t realised that the covid reporting extensions are still in place so they actually have 6 months to report year end numbers.

An additional 2 months to publish annual financial reports (ie within 6 rather than 4 months of the financial year end date).
An additional month to publish half yearly financial reports (ie within 4 rather than 3 months of the financial half year end date).

Knowing the results day won’t change the the short sellers conviction although it might prevent long term investors hedging their exposure..
THG are supposed to be building credibility with The City so I am they will behave properly.

Whichever day is fine but as I assume they want everyone there for their presentation and conference call I expect we will get at least a few days notice.

I think the 27th was actually the consensus call on this board on Thurs night.

Looks CMC Markets updated the date to 27th on the 5th April.
Having got it wrong once as being the 6th not sure they would keep guessing.
I have put 27th in my diary unless I hear otherwise.

But it has to be before 28th and they would want as long as possible given new Chairman, new strategy and in the hope that the outlook improves.
Kind of makes sense give Q1 can’t be good and 2021 largely already reported.
Yes possibly speculation but seems like a credible guess?
If it’s the 27th I suspect they will announce the date immediately before or after Easter.
Also explains MM’s holiday - he will be back by 27th.

So results now likely in early May? Correct?

How much notice do they need to give before posting the date of their FY2021 results and trading update?
10 working days correct?
