I don’t think today’s low volume fall was induced by shorting but any hedge fund with a sizeable short position would use today’s weak overall market to drive the price down on low volume before closing their short on high volume.
There will he many sizeable hedge fund short positions in place after the audit debacle.
Now they need to close them at the lowest price possible.
