I do actually think they should have responded to yesterday’s Telegraph article.
IF its true why are they so desperate for volume?
They have than enough cash so why drive margin down for volume?

You don’t understand the rules

They only need it send an RNS if a potential buyer asks to see non publicly available financial information (starts due diligence) or makes an offer (obviously without doing due diligence before the offer).
Otherwise they ignore gossip.
Only other need is due to gossip substantively impacting share price - company receives a request from regulators to clarify situation via RNS - This rarely happens and certainly wouldn’t have happened here.
It was clearly too early in the bid process to issue an RNS

If MM does what has been suggested on this and other BBs (usually suggested by shorts) he WILL GO TO PRISON.
It can’t and won’t happen.
Its a PLC not his company.
He lost the right to do what others are suggesting when the company was listed.
He still has a golden share but that does not really impact this debate.

The CEO of Morrisons is still the CEO after delisting but he did not ensure his new pay package was sorted ahead of the price the PE paid shareholders for the company.
Same principle

I say again representing the shareholders interests is their PRIMARY role.
That’s all that matters - there will be loads of oversight over the process.
It’s a Publicly owned company.
It’s not his company to sell.

Please don’t worry you might not like him or his style but he is NOT OUR ENEMY.
He has as much to lose as all of us - in fact considerably more cash wise

He is not the owner of THG.
He is the CEO and largest shareholder of a UK listed PLC - very different

He can’t unless he wants to spend some time in prison.
That’s not going to happen

There will be a team of bankers and advisers also overseeing the process and ensuring it’s all done correctly.
“Going Private” never meant he would buy it - Going Private mean delisting from the stock exchange.
In theory he could buy a shareholding from the PE at a later stage.
But his primary objective is to ensure the shareholders get the best possible deal.
All assuming they do get bought!

MM and BODs have to negotiate to the benefit of ALL Shareholders.
They have absolutely no choice.

MM will get bought (cashed out) out by the PE bid like all of us.
BUT he will try to get re-employed and will hope to be offered a superb share incentive probably based around a re-float in the USA.
