POGO...you sound like a UKIP ee or Trumpanzee or 'Q' conspiracy theorist, or perhaps just plain barmy. Why? in all of the world's media stocks would Russian trolls visit this ITV free bb. No mate, it isn't Russian trolls here, it is a stagnant stockmarket allowing MM's to manipulate, they have been on this share for months. Big money knows that the big streamers need eyeballs paying monthly and their coffers can no longer afford endless new shows, the answer is consolidation and ITV have plenty of it, they also have studios and a loyal audience. ITV has all to offer and the question is who will be the streamer that moves first.
JedC...the post wasn't a rant, read it again, it is a statement of fact. Is the dividend safe? if ad revenue is worse than expected the dividend could be cut. I agree with you on McCall not giving a damn for ordinary shareholders, so I would not bank on a safe dividend. Thanks for your advice to sell and move on, you really are an echo of dumbness!!
On 8 January 2018, following seven years as easyJet chief executive, McCall became the first female chief executive of commercial broadcaster ITV. She replaced Adam Crozier in the role. She is a creator of BritBox, a subscription video service venture in partnership with the BBC which launched of late 2019 in the UK. She said "It's quite bold, going into a market which Netflix has already been in for eight years."[16] She closed BritboxUK in 2022 when it was replaced by ITVX.
McCall earned a £3.7 million salary at ITV in 2018. Her 2019 base salary was set to increase by 2.5 per cent "in line with the wider employee group". In April 2020, McCall along with other senior executives took a 20% pay cut in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. McCall's pay in 2022/3 was £3.5 million.
In June 2023, she appeared before the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, where she was interrogated by Caroline Dinenage about the culture at ITV following the Philip Schofield scandal.
On January 31st 2018 the ITV share price stood at £1.67p valuing ITV at £7 billion, this morning the share price is a lowly 59p and struggling. Unless ITV have something good to offer next month imo the share price will not recover. McCall has been a disaster, anyone who doesn't get it must be blind. Sad thing is, if the share price recovers to 83p, the company has lost half it's Mkt Cap in her failed six years. Dreadful performance and in truth she should have gone years ago, but reward for failure is still rife in this country.
What has the Dame done wrong? well taking the share price down from 150p to the 58.70p it was at around 9 this morning, Take that for starters, but it may be more apt to ask what has she done right. I hope she has been able to bring some cheer into the coming results. If things look bleak, then I honestly think she will be gone, any bad news on the dividend and she will be gone. As far as I can see it panning out, she needs a miracle to please the city. ITV has got a lot of parts to it, it is valuable to more than one of those big streamers, so I will stay long as long for the time being.
schofield didn't break the law, no he probably didn't break the laws of the land, however his conduct in having a relationship with a young man who he had met when the boy was 14, is questionable. i think schofield came out as *** when he knew the papers had the story....it's not ok for a man to portray that he's a pipe and slippers family man who has been *** all of his life, it is dishonest and the lad was not the first. maybe it's ok for some people to think it's nothing, but it just happens to be unacceptable to the silent majority. schofield cost holly her job and sanity, he is a fraud and deserves all he got!
schofield conned everybody even dame mccall, the scandal wiped millions off the sp, and like all scandals it left a stench which has been hard to get over.
I am long ITV and losing big in the hope the share price takes off if we get some half decent numbers in March or McCall sees fit to utter an update. I am still laughing at the POGO comment about Russian trolls and subterfuge considering that anyone with a computer or i phone can see the volumes and check the sp at anytime. If anyone is messing about with this share, POGO should look closer to home and the Marketmakers who control things. Now that's a conspiracy that may have legs, lol!
Lots of stupid discussions about Dame... like before, one multiple accounts russian troll.
Pogo001....What a statement, Russian Trolls, conspiracies, fairies at the bottom of the garden, what a joke you are. Why not just let people think you are a numpty instead of posting about Russian trolls and cementing their view. You post like a person who hasn't a clue about too much so why not get over to Facebook and tell them about the Russian trolls posting on LSE about ITV. Very sad that these idiots are allowed to post, POGO your technical observations are not technical, they are your opinion and nothing more than any idiot could post about any share here or any stockmarket on the globe.
JedClampit...I was firmly behind Dame McCall for a long time and I was ready to support her through these bad times. However one cannot keep supporting a CEO who has made so many bad decisions and one who hasn't shown any enthusiasm to keep us informed on everything. Sadly she can be compared to Paula Vennels the Post Office CEO, who strangely was blind to 'seeing the wood for the trees' and she has alienated the City and all of us who hold stock in this once FTSE 100 company. Scandals, Gaffs, Ultra Wokeness have all gone toward Dame McCall's place as one of the most unpopular CEO's in the FTSE 250. Geez, just think of any FTSE company where a senior board member sells their entire shareholding prior to the sp falling 25%. Anyone not seen what Netflix management has achieved in the last 18 months, their sp is heading back to it's pre-pandemic highs so McCall will not be able to refer to them if things are worse!
Only a miracle can save McCall, that miracle being an update to say things are much better than they expected and a positively terrific report in March. If that were to happen, she may regain my backing, but atm the sp suggests that ain't gonna happen.
Cont123, are you serious no one would want the TV side? I would advise you to trawl ITV and ITVx and do the same with all the others. ITV Studios are worth more than today's Mkt Cap £2.4bn as many experts say the studios are worth £3bn.
The TV side is equally valuable, maybe more so, the production and a back catalogue of 1,000's of hours of proven comedy and drama are worth a fortune if they were for sale. So we go on to Britbox with BBC's fine addition all those programmes have never been exploited by ITV....anyone here know that reruns of US shows such as 'Seinfeld' 'Hawai Five O' 'Starsky and Hutch' turn in millions today as they go out all over the world. ITV have a treasure chest but not one bright person doing anything about it. No sir! ITV as a whole and as a going concern with all of it's undervalued goodwill and assets would be snapped up in a minute by Netflix, Amazon, Apple and a bunch of European entities. What you don't seem to understand is an ITV takeover would have to have Government approval and that stops a lot of action happening.
Remember that Murdoch was blocked and at the time he had access by agreement from funds to a majority of the shares. Today I agree it may be slightly different for a predator, but you had better believe the company at £2.4 billion Mkt Cap could go for £10 billion if it was just a case of buying it.
Yes, it's time for a boardroom cull, a shakeout, a spring clean. Lots of investors have lost lots of dough and still the whiners haven't caught on. McCall has to go, she is bad luck, bad news and bad business. There is no hope with her at wheel, she has driven it into the ground. Oh Solley it's spelled 'difference' no A in it, nor on your spelling mark!
ITV shareholders have had enough of Dame McCall, how many chances has she had since 2018. Over 5 years of mismanagement, gaffs, zero communication, board members selling huge shareholdings, scandals and last but not least a share price that has seen the company firmly in the penny share dept. And still we have the defenders and enablers ready to ignore a tenure that has been a disaster. All I can say, if you think McCall has done ok, you should pack up investing your money in shares as you haven't got a clue!
Forgot to add, Good Morning Britain's viewers went from over a million to 400k in a fortnight, the City looked at that and were appalled and then she carried on making more gaffs......Mr Bates has given her a bit of kudos but one swallow doesn't make a summer and from my TV contacts Mr Bates was a pure fluke and certainly not down to Mccall's nous in commissioning drama!
From the posts on this ITV thread and feedback from ITV investors there are hundreds of us who want Dame McCall to go asap, she did a Liz Truss in March 2022 which saw a 50% loss in the share price. The City and fund managers don't like ITV and they do not like the CEO, she has proved in by her gaffs, scandals and lack of acumen that she is an overpaid failure who should have gone 18 months ago. It was on the cards when she let Morgan because she received a phone call from the modern day Wallace Simpson that Piers had called her a liar......yes folks this dimwit let Morgan go on the demands of a z rate ham actor who without doubt handles the truth awkwardly as the Queen commented. Can shareholders organize a petition, I am advised the press would be interested.
Oh yes, forgot to add the profit on the Radcliffe share sale was possibly far more than any of you ordinary mortals will ever make on a share trade, because I would wager that those shares were free and came without even stamp duty as the gift of shares is exempt from stamp duty.
When you clowns on here stop the petty arguments and see the seriousness of ITV's head of streaming selling his stake in the company before the share price goes into a dive, you might prioritise your concerns with ITV. Shareholders on other blogs and major city players followed Radcliffe's action and sold this dog too. When ITV touched a low of 58.17p on the 17th January Radcliffe could have bought back in making 17p a share profit. And all you clowns can crow about is woke and misogyny. Woke means awake which not many of you clowns are, apologies tom the few who did e-mail ITV, but the rest of you seem not to care much about seriously shady sharedealings going on at the top of ITV.
McCall should resign with immediate effect, reward for failure is rife at ITV and that is why the share price is down by 60% since 2022. Questions concerning Radcliffe should be directed by the FCA.
It was not inside trading. It probably does speak to the idea that RR was not happy with the direction of travel at that time - a view shared by many here IMO - but I would not make such a statement unless I was sure of such things. Then I would address it through proper channels, not on a chat board.
LWHL...So Radcliffe isn't happy and sells his entire shareholding of ITV the company that pays his huge salary. What isn't Rufus Radcliffe happy about that makes this man sell his stake inn the company. How would he explain his actions to the FCA regarding a transaction so large as to have tongues wagging in the City. Although you may accept this type of behaviour from a a member of ITV's Board of Directors, he should resign his position immediately or explain how he thought that such an action was good for the market and the company. For any of you who think like me and agree that ITV should issue a statement, read the following from the FCA.
I e-mailed Dame McCall with my concerns about the company, I also e-mailed Investor Relations, no response from either
and that alone shows that McCall has no interest in ITV's small investors. Either she or Radcliffe should resign, but these fat cats live in the world of their own. McCall is taking the accolades for 'Mr Bates v Post Office' while sitting inn the chair of a company many would say is as corrupt as the Post Office and has contempt for the thousands of small shareholders who have seen their ITV investment crash. Please Dame McCall, resign asap, it's the only hope we have.

ITV head of streaming Mr Rufus Radcliffe held near a million ITV shares. Last August Mr Rufus Radcliffe sold his entire holding at 75p a share, or 25% plus more than they stood at close today. Yet not one of you on this LSE thread has ever made a post on the subject. So a board member who answers to Dame Wokey Mccall jumps ship selling out hasn't registered with you lot. Sure ITV is a dog, it's not on a lead waiting to run, it's an old dog grey on the muzzle that is currently having the longest kip inn history. Insider trader for a start might spark some of you nursing huge losses, but not a peep...stop whining and send e-mails to those in charge, are you all frightened to speak up!
59.80p to end a week when they got 12 million viewers and had all the papers saying Bates v the PO was the best drama in years. Had the whole country talking and what did we hear from ITV......silence as per usual! The art of self promotion is dead...................had Mr Bates been on the BBC, they would have been shouting from the rooftops what great value the licence fee is and how great is the Beeb.
WimTom, thought you might be a Trumpanzee, your posts are dumb enough to be MAGA...God help the world if the dumbest of the dumb yanks vote in that orange blether of lard Trump. Say bye to NATO and hello to Russia and China being let loose...Ukraine, Estonia, Taiwan and the end of the world. Those of us who value Europe pray in 2024 Trump is in a suit to match his face...ORANGE!!!
Ninshy, I am glad you ponder over my posts so much you count how many times I have used woke. Ironic isn't it!!
Sorry mate, but Nigel Farage is a clown, much as I want McCall and Lygo to sling their hooks, anyone who thinks Farage is some sort of Warren Buffett is as nutty as he is. As for Brexit, it's a disaster, let's cut out all the nonsense about remoaners v brexiteers or keep using the word 'woke' who nobody knows the meaning of. Get real, Farage is a blowhard, Brexit has been a disaster and ITV need a new BOD!
Let us all hope that 2024 sees the back of Farage, Trump, Putin, Netanyahu, Hamas and last but not least McCall and Lygo!
Merry Xmas
