The operationalisation of the Act aims to promote and develop a petroleum and petrochemicals hub and to provide for all related matters in the industry to maximise gains from the petroleum and petrochemical industry.

The move by the government forms part of a major initiative to create more jobs in the oil and gas sectors of the economy and provide investment opportunities for interested companies within and outside Ghana.

Background

The policy document was designed by the Ministry of Energy as the industry policy formulator, in consultation with sector stakeholders including the Petroleum Commission and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) being the upstream and downstream industry regulators respectively as well as some key bodies. The Corporation is expected to collaborate with all relevant public institutions to develop the petroleum and petrochemicals industries.

On success this opens the gnpc / Erin update we are waiting upon. This news flow pre empts any ratification and is independant of clon but can directly suggest the direction and pace of the blocks progression.

In effect I suggest we will see either positions taken on or before insolvency bill. Can't see this going sub 1p if it does I'm increasing my stake.

I'd say that if he can provide a public statement from a Ghanian official then it's just noise.

thats the 64k question isn't it.

The Bopd prospects are amazing. Maybe this is a question for other oil'ers to comment in terms of NAV, Mcap and SP.

I have my sell price in mind which will be after the ratification and farm in announcements that IMO I think will come quickly.

It's worth noting that the in recent reports from BoD they announced the interest is not with just the Tano2a licence but also a direct negotiation for another licence with GNPC.

A very interesting near term event is approaching CLON, while I am not going to ramp this share my personal view is that we (genuine shareholders) will quickly see

- 3rd reading of bill
- President approves and signs
- quick turnaround of ratification announcement for Pan Andean
- almost simultaneous announcement of award of 'other licence'
- Actions begin or are triggered for farm in / partners

GLA to all holders, its been a journey for some of us. February is looking like the fruition to our waiting and positions.
