RE: A Good Day To Buy?23 Apr 2022 19:28
Zac, I agree with Gary & soton, If i can just add though , I agree there's no need to be bothered about the here and now sp, we all know the sp will go up and down, and if and when it drops below my average i use that opportunity for topping up at a discount price adding value to the shares, but it is also very important that some time throughout the year that the sp returns to above your purchase price, as you want the dividends as income and not for making up losses on your capital, I have been invested here for years and not lost any money on my capital and that's what defines a good share for me, It's so easy to get caught in that trap as i found out with Vodafone, the share price started dropping down from £2 but you don't think anything of it thinking if will go back up in a few months then it drops again and again and before you know it you have lost half your capital and then the dividend get's cut, the dividends will never make up for the capital loss, so I realise I will have to sell up at a loss at some point, all I'm saying guys if you have a good share that's working well ,hold on to the good ones and concentrate on the disappointing ones instead we all have some?
