In my 15 years travelling on the tube I never saw anyone get mugged. There were 54000 mugging and pickpockets incidents in London in 2019 which probably compares favourably considering the numbers that travel through London in a year. I personally never worried about getting mugged on the tube but pickpocketed yes.

Miagi365 I no longer live in London but spend most of my time in Cardiff where I was born. The Welsh really are much more friendly if I say so myself. The main problem on the streets is the huge number of homeless drug users who blight most cities sadly.

Roger I lived in London for 15 years and like most people catch the tube everyday. The five years after I was a police officer I worked in an office and therefore would have a suit on. It did not happen all the time but it happened an awful lot.

I am not sure if you have been on a tube roger but they tend to be very busy and me being tall would not really intimidate a woman. Some not all assumed and some still assume black male equals mugger.

Roger yes I was and please don’t be so patronising. My patch covered Millwall and in my 10yrs we did very little to counter football hooligans no pictures of the usual suspects on match days no warnings to the main trouble makers.

I was often asked by fellow officers to say I had seen an individual at say 10am in a certain street to place him at or near a crime scene. I refused unless I had seen them. I seen loads of fabricated evidence against people where it was their first arrest. People arrested and left in the cells for hours even overnight to soften them up most of which was illegal.

You are supposed to have friends from all backgrounds why don’t you ask them if they have any negative police experiences.

I will break down what I mean Roger there are still a lot of people who will judge you by your skin colour or appearance.

These men have never been in trouble and were just playing football etc in the park and was carried out all over the uk. Roger as a black male who was born in the uk 55 years ago I can tell you racism is alive and kicking in the uk. It is getting better on most levels as most of the younger generation are colour blind and most of the older generation also but there are plenty who are full on of hate and don’t even realise. I stated my career in London and would sit on the tube and women would unconsciously switch their handbag to the other side. I could feel the looks and prejudice but once I put my police uniform on there would be smiles. I used to know fellow officers who were racist and would try it on with me to look the other way to cell beatings etc but I stuck my ground was disliked by a lot but my Moto was and is treat everyone equal. 10 years as a police officer was enough for me

Before you know it the borrower has been paying the loans back for 10 yrs straight without a break. Amigo made the mistake of focusing on the guarantor and did not investigate the borrowers affordability in many thousands of cases in enough detail. This is why most compensation payouts don’t even go to FOS anymore. Administration beckons
