RE: Dividend Vs Bond purchase Vs share buyback Vs asset purchases5 Mar 2022 20:00
Evraz is a dividend paying share though. They sorted a lot of upcoming debt last year and started 2022 with plenty of cash. This year will not be as good as last year as Russian demand will fall. North America made nearly $500 million profit on its own though and prices have shot up since then. The steel produced in Russia has got a lot cheaper to overseas buyers along with the vanadium but Russian demand surely must fall with the squeeze on the economy from sanctions. As a shareholder I was due a few hundred rasp shares (I sold 1200 shares as soon as they went ex rights at £3.30. I bought them at £4.45). I started buying big time when they went under a £1 and have over 30k shares.
They really need Putin to go to properly recover as if they stop buying oil and gas off Russia the world will suffer with the rise in gas and petrol prices.
