For it to rise to the 150p level it would to have to add substantially to its profits. How is that going to happen?
I only see trading ups and downs from here and if large investors give up and switch to better prospects then we may be looking at stagnation at best at these levels or sub £1.

How exactly will Vod profit from the 5G investment? Will they increase prices - I doubt it. So I see it as just another cost.

Fleccy the "current market madness" doesn't account for the steady fall over the past 4+ years.

I can't see that Fed day has anything to do with it. As I said before any little rise is quite quickly sold into and I think that's the reason. Trading vols are low compared to the shares in issue. Also there's no growth story so it'll be kept low or as I've always feared sink lower. If we stay at this level the dividend will compensate my losses in about 10 years allowing for inflation. All that is why VOD wont get anything near the daft broker targets. They just want people to trade so they earn money. So that's a bright outlook from me.

Holdings like Tesla, Moderna, Illumina, Ginkgo, Delivery Hero have really clobbered it in recent times. For me buying it above NAV was also a big mistake.
Similar funds like BG American are also well down cos of the mad valuations in many of the growth stocks and so are negative on the year.

I think the subject line 'something is brewing' is just wishful thinking.
We do, however, have a little uptrend of late that seems to be sustaining.
Clearly it's being traded up and down by a penny or so each day. A sufficient margin for those who can afford to put a big stake on red.

Each NT update seems to give this a little kick and then it continues its downward path.

I don't get the clandestine buyer theory other than VOD itself. After all sells exceed buys and the fundamentals are poor so the buyer would have to be a clot.

Being up 0.12% today is indeed something to rejoice, given VOD has halved in value since 1.1.18.
A little rise can be expected running up to div pay day.
I don't see that anything can turn this around in any meaningful way since a change in profitability is limited.

No it's on a downtrend. The short-lived gains maybe lure people in but gains are quickly sold into. Look at the chart and tell me if i'm wrong?

I tend to agree with Piggy.
Whenever I've tried the trading in and out strategy something left of field comes along to disrupt the up/down pattern.
Take the NZ announcement on smoking for example. What if that is adopted by other countries?

If the fate of the CMCX sp is mainly hinged on people working from home then the outlook is bleak.

If one was lucky enough to play the ups and downs a lot of money could be made. But it would all be based on guesswork.
Whenever I've tried it I am wrongfooted as if the market knows that's what I'm up to. It's uncanny.
Medium to long term I 'feel' BP is a good investment. There is no prospect whatsoever of a significant move away from oil and gas in most of our lifetimes. So oversupply must be the main dampener on the energy stocks not just negative sentiment from the green lobby.
At the moment I fear a return to around 320 - but only if I add to my holding if you get my drift.

I bought QQ on the hope of a takeover, rather naively following NT. Stupidly I've watched the sp decline every day and am now 25% down. Of course I could sell now, but a news item would then emerge tomorrow. This has happened so many times in the past that I think the market revolves around what I do!
There seems to be more buys than sells today but I'm not at all sure whether the accounting is a reliable indicator. Wouldn't it be nice if the buyer/seller were added as a column to the trade tables!

We seem to have a slight uptrend very recently for who knows what reason. Cynically I can't help thinking these little uptrends are simply to sucker people into the market. Maybe some investors can see (or rather hope for ) a dim light some way into the future - who knows.
My issue remains with the enormous infrastructure expenditure Vodafone needs - like state spending. Because of that I can't understand the broker targets and why they would put their name to them. They know all this too I presume which means the targets are a scam unless they can explain why a 30%+ uplift in the sp can be achieved. Shorts are around 2% which can't help.
