Do posters here think a return to£20 is on the cards? The director buy in Nov were all at that level.

Who is "the buyer"? Also it's not a good sign if institutions are selling. Like many other stocks trades seem largely driven by trading robots, many of which as I understand it are 3rd party intermediates between a real buyer/seller, so it's difficult to know what's happening.

We seem to be on an uptrend since before xmas. The fundamentals appear sound to me so I'm hoping we can achieve the 220p+ quite soon. I can't see any particular downside but then I'm underwater on so many stocks that I'm obviously blind to such things!

Apart from last July the sp is on the up around payment date and then it drops. That way you pay more/share. It makes sense that the market will raise the price for reinvestors does it not?

Yes a welcome move up. A couple of institutional sellers today, however. Maybe they are just recouping some losses or something like that.

One could be cynical and say modest Director buying is a PR stunt.

The way to profit from the likes of VOD is to trade in and out as per the last poster.

Probably one of the most difficult corporates for analysts to predict the future. The broker targets have been bonkers for years. Why do they do it?!
I imagine the majority of investors are underwater on this. Traders could of course make money on the little ups and downs if they chance a sufficient stake. I'm not one of them. It never seems to work for me.

Anyway, it's interesting to look at RDSB/BP sp chart. They just about track each other. On that basis, BP would seem a better bet 'cos the dividend is higher.

Let's hope so. Bp. has a decent yield at this price - better than Shell. I hold a lot of both. I don't reinvest dividends automatically since the platform providers always get a bad deal from the market on the day. Best to wait for a market down day.

It is. I suspect investors are interested in high yield stocks like IMB even if it's not the big corporates 'cos of the sin tax aspect.
I did a topslice recently which I hope serves to drive the price up for my remaining holding. My cynical logic is that the market won't let me buy back lower! No tactic ever works of course.

Obviously the jittery market will latch on to any potential negative like the cost statement!

I wonder if it's because of the high yield acting as a bond proxy. My other stocks like PLUS,MNG,PHNX,IMB are holding up since they are also high yield.
The point about limited infrastructure beyond 5G/6G seems to have merit but that's all quite a long way off globally and the NPV is probably 10 years to turn positive, and Vod seems continually to find new ways of spending.
I have nurtured a negative prospect of a descent to 90p but that seems to have been allayed of late.
More broadly, I wonder if we are seeing the beginning of a deep a stock market slump due to the COVID impact lag. Just look at the NASDAQ.All the false optimism about Omicron mildness is just froth. It's like being in a storm and saying those last two waves weren't that bad.

Perhaps some large investors finally took a look at the S4 website which is appalling. Designed by a 11 yr old I'd say.
