@Wongawonga13 They were conducting a large walk-in usability study recently which two posters here attended, Robbo / Scat (although were too late to take part). These additional lay user studies are what is required for home-use CE marking. Medusa also have their own ISO. No UK tests (?) currently have home use CE marking which would also incentivize Medusa to be first to this market.
@Timster thank you, agreed.
Thanks for sharing Goldie, agreed. The huge investment made by the Kamani's into Medusa19 should not be ignored. They are not the types who invest heavily into something they don't believe would work.
Regarding NDAs with UKGov, did we ever see evidence of this? It seems very likely to be the case, however, I thought it was just calculation speculation?
Thanks for sharing, weird to see a typo though, " the new system may be different type", should read " the new system may be a* different type". Would be great if someone else could confirm this to be true?
Always good to have more than one source, hope it's true.
For anyone interested:
I inquired about the Antigen Pen Test which claims a 100/100 s/s (https://bioservuk.com/product/covid-19-antigen-rapid-test-pen-saliva/). The CT range used to validate the test was 19.5 - 34.5, however, this is based on 10 positive samples only (22 total) (https://bioservuk.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/INS001_06_COV-2PEN05-2021-COVID-19-Antigen-Saliva-Test-Kit-Insert.pdf).
In fact, performance data is available, it appears it was validated using 22 samples (10 positive / 12 negative samples), unless I'm mistaken?

@AG1980 I don't think we have much to worry about regarding the Saliva pen test, even when considering less experienced customers.
The 'how-to' video provided on the product page states that the test components require to be at room temperature for use (18-30c) and when taking the test it must be placed in the mouth for two mins, pretty irritating. Personally would rather just swab the lower part of my nose for a few seconds. Furthermore, it's also quite ironic that while they state an S/S of 100/100, with no data / CT values to support this, there is a, "I understand that the accuracy of the test is not 100%" disclosure present on the product page which requires ticking before purchase.
