Here is why I think IMHO top slicing is best.... If the SP rises and I sell, say for example a few 5k worth and leave 10k in. If the sp then falls I can 4k back in, have more shares than I had before, plus some I have 1k in the bank. If it rises I have 5k in the bank plus my 10k increase. If however, it continues to fall (or worse, crashes altogether) after I take my 5k out, then at least I still have something to show for it....in short, if you top slice then you don't mind if it rises or falls because both are opportunities and I can never end up with nothing...its a no-brainer to me ;)
