In the middle of shire yesterday4 Nov 2018 12:52
Someone asked about researching likely SP in the event of different announcements. My feeling is that a possible announcement is going to trigger wild volatility and since none of us have crystal balls, there will be both euphoria and regret at what follows. I have seen some crazy guesstimates but yesterday's conversation, somewhere, talked about slicing at 10 to 20% - this also seems crazy but wholly dependent on what comes obviously. I suspect that people who know how to use a calculator as others sit glued to a chart and their fingers on the sell button are going to be the big winners. Look at the remote Scarborough gas field bought from Exxon in March for 400m dollars - look at its reserves of around 9tcf. How will our recoverable compare on gas alone when they are updated upwards (which we have already been told). How does the infrastructure compare to Scarborough where Woodside now need to spend 9bn to get it all working. The more you look at this the less mad Madpunter becomes. Look at Mubadala in Egypt and other acquisitions and then put a market cap of those amounts divided by 14.7bn shares and you get very large numbers based on deals that HAVE been done. It all depends on the RNS but I think many are in danger of handing their golden tickets to the financial institutions who will follow the big boys in the days, weeks and months afterwards.
