281p is my recovery figure let's hope the rise does not stall ! In the next few days and we get to that figure soon.

Dont know what I was trying to say at the beginning of my post it was in response to dividend change post and was trying to point out it was misleading predictive text must have changed it

Pretty must leading seeing Aviva went ex dividend last thursday at 429p dropped to 411p and are now at 422p so how do they know the drop was due to this announcement ?

Cant tell what the market will do tomorrow never mind September ! Steady rise now till they decide what to do do with with Europe in October.

Take it LTH means long term holder ? No not at all use to stick to stock and hold for the sake of holding I have a few shares that pay dividends quarterly so stick with them. The rest I jump in and out of for the dividend, last year I bought and sold SLA on there highs and buying back in for this year dividend and hoping for a quick recovery. There are lots of shares out there paying a good return at this time of year so hope to move on to them , so long as my investments dont drop by my initial investment and I end up with a good sum of dividends I am more than happy.

Dobt forget the special dividend coming up.

Remember it well sold my holdings after ex dividend last year. 552p seems a distant memory now .but at least I got back in at a decent price.rhe problem this year is that's lots of companies have failed to make a good recovery after ex dividend ones in the construction and banking are a few examples.

Unlikely to get to 302p by tomorrow night, just hope the drop on Thursday is not more than the dividend!

The market is now pushing this share up, but you do tend to find that a lot of shareholders who bought in when the dividend was announced and the share price was lower will sell before ex dividend day and not wait for the drop and a guess on when and if they recover to today's S.P. myself I bought some at 412p and if they continue to rise today and tomorrow I will sell them tomorrow and more than take what the dividend would have paid, and not have the wait for the dividend and weather they will recover, needless to say I also bought at 426p so will hold on to those.

One week before ex dividend date. Let's hope it continues to rise, bought in at 412p last week and 426p this week

Not buying this time for the small dividend, after you take in the buying cost and stamp duty it would not leave a big profit on the dividend will probably buy tomorrow on the drop for the big special dividend, and take the dividend on my present holdings.

Let's hope we have seen some good news for once in the political sense, and this is the reason for the latest rise.
