If it’s as good as we think, then ethically it needs rolling out right away. No MTD. Go to RP2D (Recommended phase 2 dose). For something so obviously beneficial it must be possible to treat and test at the same time.

I used to work in the field of chemotoxic safety. We used the risk of a DTL (Dangerous Toxic Load). This was a dose that was expected to kill 10% of the exposed population, which included babies and old people. So where is MTD from? It sounds appropriate for new medicines. But is this for babies and old people? I just can’t get my head around DE2 for MTD for a poison (Dox). DE1 I understand because it pushed above the normal dose of Dox. I think it should be possible to determine MTD & DTL using DE1 just by decreasing the dose intervals. Maybe I’m missing something. So would appreciate other views.

Please can someone reference where DE2 is from?
Final results RNS only mentions;
‘Success in the ongoing Phase Ia study, which will likely read-out in the middle of 2022’.
Elsewhere in the same RNS ‘Summer’ is stated, which is confusing.

I can imagine the safety committee are arguing about further testing versus saving lives. But why not both? Letting people die when this is available just seems wrong.

Agree it makes little sense to hold back from using safer poison (Dox). Lives could be being saved while the scientists dance around their handbags.

Also the very last two words ‘….and scale’ must mean this is now going beyond safety trials and more patients are about to benefit.

These last two words mean more than continued testing. Fill yer boots.

The control arm could be all those patients who have not been given AVA6000.

This was noticed and discussed a couple of days ago. Although the LSE chart still needs to be updated they do say there are no short positions. But the consensus and other sources agree we only know they have gone below the reporting level of 0.5%. Both occurred on the same day, which is improbable for independent funds. Although there is no certainty if they will continue closing it seems like a probable trend. Who knows when, but if they are collaborating then today appears to be a good day for them.
