Michael Holmes, CEO of @scale_space, gave an interesting introduction to @WCIDLondon, a rapidly emerging #lifescience cluster that is driving exciting #biotech innovation.
We are hugely grateful for the support of Lord James O’Shaughnessy, who joined us today at @scale_space to give a special address on the future of UK #lifesciences, and to cut the ribbon for our new laboratories.
We are delighted to be celebrating the formal opening of #Avacta #Therapeutics at our brand-new headquarters in @scale_space! The state-of-the-art facilities bring together our R&D teams to support the translation of our #oncology pipeline to exciting new therapies for patients.
Oddly, I received an email last week from BioServ trying to sell me the Healgen LFT. Fully approved etc via Porton Down. Two years shelf life. I purchased Avacta's 3 month shelf life wrong antibody LFTs from BioServ a year or so ago.
I hope so. I'm not selling anything anytime soon. All the American stuff is good to hear, but they arrived late in my eyes and hopefully the UK will have been secretly doing something similar and ahead of them. Still, a kick up the arse wouldn't hurt in my view. The softly gently comments on here amaze me. Except for the ones who like to abuse each other. Plenty of those clogging up this board.
I agree Goldie. Very encouraging. But isn’t the FDA American? If so, imagine they are a bit behind our U.K. lot. But I know people who do testing just love to test.
PAH00. I just like to express my view every now and again. As for describing this as clogging up the board sounds like an exaggeration to me. This is just my opinion and hope you are at least accepting that it is.
I’d like someone in authority to challenge those MOT garages who advocate yearly testing. A bit like challenging whoever maybe spinning out the AVA6k tests.
I would hope not. A bit like doing my own MOT. Not good. It’s those involved in the approval process I would like to consider the ethics of holding up something that is so obviously beneficial and safe.
I’m also in favour of bi annual MOTs for newer cars as they are safer than ever and the risk increase will be negligible. But I know some fuddy duddies who have a poor understanding of risk to health will disagree.
Sticking to a slow well established routine for something so obviously beneficial to people’s health seems like lack of confidence to me. Even unethical for those with the power to pick up the pace. Not everyone shares my view it seems.
Rxdav. Going over the same thing over and over again is what most contributors do. This thread seems like a u-turn on what was said last time. Last time people seemed to lack confidence in AVA6k and support continued testing and testing and more testing. This time it seems confidence is high. Even Bob the builder.
Joe, that was a favoured test method. Based on science. One symptom being losing the sense of smell. Turns out that would have been good advice with a longer shelf life.
I still have over 20 Avacta LFTs. Shelf life of less than 12 weeks, look and feel much cheaper than any Chinese LFT. I used to have the satisfaction they were the best of the world because they didn’t rely on antibodies. A case of miss selling? I wonder if eventually I’ll be able to swap them for the updated version?
Tax will only apply to what the HMRC can see. We all know how slippery the bonus recipients can be. And they still owe the tax payers billions. So give all the bonus to the tax payers. What’s unfair about that?
Definitely gone over your head. Although I didn’t start this thread and not the only subsequent contributor, did you have an objective in mind trying to pick an argument about not arguing? I will green box people as and when I choose. Do you have control issues too.
