Purely reflective of the wider markets imo notaflipper (as the FTSE dropped 150 points in a few hours). It's now stabilising but probably have to wait for America to open to see what happens next. I suspect America will drop in tandem with here, as the markets love to copy each other, but then once it's had its reciprocal drop, if it starts to recover ground then the FTSE might start to creep up again too. And then everyone forgets about it and goes back to bargain hunting :p

Norges Bank increasing their stake here.

Feck knows. Yesterday was probably is just a natural wavering point for traders and today was a big drop on the FTSE. So the two things combined meant a drop was pretty inevitable. As I think this is bonkers cheap compared to most other shares I can see - I wanted to raise my position because it could easily do 100p pretty quickly (and frankly far higher if you used similar P/E's to most companies). In the very short term it may depend on whether the wider market stops having its weekly tantrum.
Personally I prefer to buy when there's red everywhere than when there's green/blue everywhere ;)

Needed to get rid of the short termers who sell when the price falls.

IPF has followed this pattern exactly, and if you look at the graph, once it broke above the top line, it pulled back to the line, before moving much higher.

Revoy. If I'm honest I'm not sure. I'd have bought today on the lows when it dipped (if I hadn't gone out and missed that). Now going to watch again tomorrow. I've already got a decent position so have the luxury of not being too bothered if it continues to rise straight from first thing in the morning. If it pulls back a bit to similar lows to yesterday I'll probably have a bit more.

As expected, Trump threw a bit of a tantrum, but not the carnage markets were expecting.

Hopefully a good start on Monday.

Would be rather nice timing if that was them finished for now, and Trump doesn't declare World War 3 over the weekend, as the markets have already priced in a lot of carnage today. Could be a good Monday.

Ghia - I don't think the numbers recruited in the trial is something particularly to worry about. That is what it is. Delays aren't great but they're immaterial in the grand scheme of things. It's obviously hard to read anything concrete into the RNS but if I had to guess, and it is a guess, I'd find it more likely they're doing a home trial, if the hospital trial wasn't having blockbusting success. If it was I don't think they'd bother. I simply think that it's slightly more likely that it's having a mild/moderate impact in hospital and they think they might see better results if they catch it early. If that's the case, it doesn't mean it's a write-off, and may still do well from home. Of course it could be doing well in hospitals too - but we just don't know obviously.

Ghia - the problem is you're reacting as if I've said this is going to fail or something. I said nothing of the sort. I simply said that you COULD easily infer from the current news that it might not be having blockbusting results. I didn't say that it definitely was or wasn't. I specifically said that because I knew people would overreact for no reason.
Ultimately this is a gamble on the success of a drug trial and reading the RNSs I personally wouldn't have got more confident. It doesn't mean I don't think there's any chance of success because clearly there still is (and everyone can make their own guess on that likelihood).

If you want me to believe you're just a long term holder here, who just happened to turn up along with everyone else when it hit the news, then you'll need to swap my brain out for Boris Johnson's defective one, as he's claiming to believe Cummings excuse about "testing his eyesight" (of course he's just lying).
This is all irrelevant anyway. Either SNG will succeed or it won't. Nothing you, I, or anyone else, says, will make any difference to that.

That's not strictly true. You might not know the exact numbers, however if nobody was getting better, then it doesn't matter if it's blind or random, you know the result. Similarly, if a lot more people than usual are recovering, you would have a pretty good indication (not certainty) that it's working.

As a now casual observer I think the SP simply reflects the fact you COULD (I'm not saying definitely) argue that today's news might indicate the treatment is perhaps not having a massive effect at the later stages of COVID (ie when people are in hospital).
I believe that's not entirely surprising and I think I'm right in saying (from my memory of reading everything related to synairgen / interferon beta) that there's been a good chance that it would be better as a prophylactic (preventative) medicine rather than a later stage treatment.
So I wouldn't be surprised if the treatment had showed some effect in hospitals, but perhaps not a massive one, and therefore they're now testing on the other major way it might help (ie it might not be outstanding as a treatment for full-blown COVID but might help people with symptoms prevent it getting to a severe stage).

Cheer up, having watched the trading here pretty much every day for the past couple of years, you used to be lucky to get 20 trades a day not 200 ;)

With regards Lansdowne, you have to remember that it's different for very large holders, and increasing/reducing your position (until very recently) was very difficult to do in size because the volume was so low (and I mean for a period of years).

So you could interpret Lansdowne selling as a negative sign, it's certainly not going to help the share price having a major holder reducing, but you need to consider they may have wanted to reduce their position for a long time, or take SOME profit whilst there's lots of volume, because IF the trial doesn't come good they'll be stuck holding again (or selling for peanuts). It's never wrong to take a profit and it's significantly harder for a large holder to do that on low-volume micro-caps like this (until the volume turned up in the past few months and price rocketed).

It's not particularly positive (obviously) but I don't think it's something that should necessarily worry anyone. You can still sum it up with what is obvious. In that the trial isn't guaranteed to be a success so it should be no surprise to see people take profit and manage risk. It doesn't mean further success can't come.
