If that is the case, why would people order shares at 190p when they could buy them at 170p?

Not saying you are wrong but don't quite follow placing orders for shares at higher prices than are available now.

Don't think we are talking institutions here at the moment, just PIs like you and me.

I would love a TR1 for Conifer though, as they only buy once they have bought in.

Either way, whilst I don't follow the 10p drop, what I read into the numbers is very positive and we await news on numerous fronts on top of that.

Still believe that the timing of the results webinar and the sell side analyst briefing just before that confirm that something very positive is about to happen.

Any other thoughts always appreciated.

This was very interesting today.

For those that read these posts, I have been listing what is shown in the auctions from time to time.

Sadly (please forgive me), I have trawled back through all of today's trades and believe that way more have been bought than sold and yet we are down by 10p.

Aside of the 5000 blocks that MMs need to show on both the buy and sell side, the following were also shown:

177 2000
190 7000
190 7000
260 3000

So where have the 300,000 gone that have been there recently? Either the MMs are reading this and trying to fool us (unlikely), there has been a large buyer, or they want shares. If there are any other thoughts then please let us all know.

I remain convinced that buy and hold remains the correct approach, accepting that some people may have no option but to sell for various reasons.

We are seeing quite a few buys of 10000 blocks today funded by panicked sellers. I'm sure the buyer is pleased with the price and no doubt pleasantly surprised.

Someone mentioned a large buy order earlier and makes a good point.

The buy amounts are clearly larger than the sell amounts, so the MMs appear to be hoping that those needing to sell because they think they may be in lockdown again will sell and others will follow suit because they see the sp reducing.

Anybody that listened to the scientists saying that this virus is doubling numbers every week just need to think about how we can get out of this.

Time to look down the settee again.

It seems clear that the virus isn't going away.

This will impact on the FTSE as concerns about lockdowns grow.

It also means that the need for rapid testing and neutralizing therapies (Daewoong) has increased.

The travel industry will becoming increasingly concerned (Integumen) and other industries will want to know if their workforce is clear of the virus.

I don't like any of the above but for a company developing tests, therapies and solutions it could be argued as good news.

Just saw your question.

The grey numbers are, I believe, what the Market Makers have available at the prices shown. They will have picked up shares when we dropped from 215p to 125p in my opinion and if they have paid 179p, for example, won't sell for less than 180p, or thereabouts.

The fact that there are far fewer on the sell side than the buy side helps explain our current upward trajectory.

Trust this makes sense and, as ever, happy to hear alternative views.

Level two works on DEPTH on both the sell and buy side. The DEPTH is normally seven each side for each of the market makers. We used to have six until quite recently.

The full DEPTH is only shown in the pre opening and closing auctions plus any auctions during the day. For some time now the DEPTH on the sell side has remained at seven but on the buy side has been at fourteen. This is a massive positive for the likely direction of the sp and we have seen the base move from 150p to 155p to 160p to 165p and to 170p and now trying to reach 175p.

Outside of the DEPTH of seven on the buy side are the following numbers:

200 300

Not a lot in the scheme of things, which is why they rely on sells to keep the sp down (in my opinion).

Thanks, Croqman. It looks a bit complicated to use but it does use saliva, which is key to the real test that is easy to use that comes from a small town in North Yorkshire.

Good to see the French know the benefits of testing saliva as France seems to be a large market for this.

A Whaler haddock is 930p and there is a special affimer haddock (new in) at 635p

A breadcake is 92p and mushy peas are from 105p.

Happy to disagree on delayed trades but they have been executed before publication, so if the MMs don't know If be surprised.

We may have a different take on this but debate is always useful.

The northern news programmes sound quite positive though.

Always remember they are only shown to us as delayed and the market makers know exactly when they have happened.

Not seen anything added to the buy side for a while, so they seem to be transferring to the ask during auction, which is a good sign.

I will buy two lots of 1000 tomorrow and if 149 other people do the same then we should see a new base. I would buy more but the back of the settee is definitely lacking any assistance.
