As information comes out the need for mass testing that works gets ever clearer. Some examples are:
Vaccination will be a recurring event
Vaccine production remains an issue
"Immunity" is debatable
On the Avacta front (covid only)
Manufacture has been highlighted as key on a number of occasions
Other manufacturing options are arising
The UK government is buying LFT parts
Saliva or swab are mentioned by the government

Whilst it is snowing at the bus stop, the people in the queue have just begun a sing song.

Not sure this is the correct word. as none of the current vaccines provide immunity.

The government website says, " It takes a few weeks for your body to build up protection from the vaccine. Like all medicines, no vaccine is completely effective, so you should continue to take recommended precautions to avoid infection. Some people may still get COVID-19 despite having a vaccination, but this should be less severe. "
Read that as you will, check the quoted vaccine efficacy rates and add to those the fact that it lasts for only x months and you can begin to understand how near impossible it is for a roll out plan to be implemented across a population and the need for testing (with an accurate test) becomes even more compelling than ever.

Just my opinion from the facts I am reading which is why I am waiting for the bus.

The current strategy has no chance of working, zoom (in my opimion)
1. The Innova tests are crepe.
2. The vaccines don't stop you catching covid or passing it on.
3. They have altered the dosage timescales against the advice of the vaccine providers.
4. It will take 32 weeks to give everybody one dose (UK).
5. But your second dose will have to be missed to do this.
6. Variants are growing.
7. The government (and politicians generally) can't plan their way out of a paper bag.
8. Lockdown restrictions don't appear to be making much difference.

Time to watch "World's End" starring Jonny Depp until Alistair comes round the corner driving the bus.

Well, we have been in the bus queue for a while, that's true. I wonder if three might turn up at once?

Some people in the queue are looking frustrated and others need to be somewhere at a given point in time. Fortunately, I don't need to be anywhere that quickly, so I am waiting patiently.

Which buses might arrive I wonder?

Will it be the S&S bus?
Maybe the bus to BAMS, which stops at all the hospitals?
Could it be the test bus for all the learner drivers?
The long trip therapy bus could even turn up.
That bus that goes to left field seems to turn up quite a lot and the collaboration bus is always a handy option.

Whilst some people in the queue are only travelling locally (the UK), I am thinking of travelling round the world market as that is 100 times bigger, so I appear to be smiling more than some.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times I say come on bus so I think I might as well just wait and talk to some other people that are waiting.

And it would appear that "highly effective at preventing" = "immunity" and there's me thinking they weren't the same thing.

What an incredibly misleading statement to make "should last a year" when it hasn't been out for more than two months and trials weren't for anywhere near that timeframe.

No doubt we will hear the same from governments that want us to believe that the problem is solved.

Noticeably no comment on changing the dosage regimen. Probably saving this to blame for it not lasting a year.

No apologies for cynicism I just don't believe what I am hearing.
