Strange question on this thread, turnkey but I will have a go.

The key "projects" for Avacta are the Affimer IP and the Precision technology, both of which are commercially active with numerous worldwide collaborations, one of which is worth £1bn.

If you are solely referring to covid, then ELISA is already commercialised for research purposes and BAMS and the LFTs are with CONDOR currently.

I just think it is strange (maybe the wrong word) that the government has tendered for so much LFT equipment at the same time as various items are being badged as NHS.

Given all the "problems" with PHE and the like, I think governments are learning that they need to ensure the supply chain for items more than they initially believed.

They also need to make it look like they've planned this to avoid continued criticism (deserved).

Frustrated shareholders make life easier for larger buyers and there is clearly frustration as news is obviously longer coming than most people would like.

You have to wonder why the larger buyers didn't wait until today. Perhaps a few pence either way is of no concern to them.

The same trend is repeating today with sells up to the actual sp, which is what we had yesterday.

Frustrating? Yes. Over? No.

For example, how is any country going to know how well the vaccine push is working or how long any protection lasts?

Here on the Avacta board, we understand the pressure that politicians are under to control the virus, protect the NHS and guide us out of lockdown.

We have a plan for you to do this which would link with your current vaccine focus on the elderly and key workers, rewards areas where infections are low and incentivise areas where infections are high to bring infections down.

The plan breaks the country down into the 40 telephone areas that there are:

1. Continue with the key worker and elderly vaccine approach nationally to help the NHS.

2. Understand the current covid count and asymptomatic carriers in each area (covid count already available). Accurate rapid testing required for the second part, so numbers would be available very quickly.

3. Prioritise the lowest percentage area for additional vaccine roll out and regular testing and tracking to ensure the virus is contained.

4. Decrease lockdown measures in those areas and bring some normality back there, including shops reopening etcetera. (You can still call this tiers if you wish.)

5. Increase lockdown measures in the highest infectious areas and provide incentives to encourage people there to help bring the infectious rate down in order to move up the priority list.

6. Rinse and repeat by telephone code area.

Trust this helps and covers all the bases you might require to bring us all out of lockdown and put the country back on its feet.

There was a trading update on the 23rd January last year.

If there was to be one this year then it isn't unreasonable for it to be around that time again.

The 23rd falls on a Saturday this year, so this Friday/next Monday seem probable if there us to be one.

Given the negatives now on the antibody testing, I don't doubt that Avacta would want to capitalise on the opportunity and the government are due to announce how we get out of lockdown, so the timing could be perfect.

I may be joining too many dots but then again, I may not be.

Any slight changes to the intraday sp this week would be meaningless and a fomo week would make more sense.

I'm sure they will be tweaked (rightly).

Given Dominc Raab saying first dose by September, it looks like they will have plenty of time for tweaking, which also extends the timescales for therapies to be developed and the allowable timescale for the best test.

The Astrea announcement adds more fuel to the Avacta bus it would seem.

I think there is room for a therapy alongside any vaccines for a number of reasons:
Vaccine roll outs take time
People are hospitalized in the interim
Not all countries are receiving the vaccine
Supplies have to be received
Protection has a (known?) timescale

At various points in a worldwide vaccine roll out we will have people unfortunately requiring treatment and a therapy could go hand I hand with vaccines in this respect without governments having to tone down their trumpeting of vaccines.

I think testing remains key to any approach.
