I think the raised (and valuable) cash was institutional investors, two of whom at least look like they have added. I also bought many shares above this price (and some below) and appreciate that many others have.

I just think that the institutional investors, in particular Rouane, will have looked more at the likely longer term aspects with covid as a likely short term bonus.

Bella, I think we saw and heard last night that there is concern about vaccine efficacy with the variants, hence all the "don't worry" and "very confident" comments from Van Tam, none of which were very scientific and more like a grandad saying there isnt a boogie man.

I think the difference with CTA, Timster, is that there are set reply timescales. I agree that other government areas need something up their unspeakable.

Just think as well that there is too much emphasis placed on the LFT given all of the recent newsflow across various aspects of the company.

Whilst I can understand the discussions today are centred on a UK LFT, there is a lot more than needs to be considered.
(In respect of the above, the UK has only 1% of the world's population.)

More broadly, we have been told today by the Vaccine Minister that the current vaccines don't necessarily protect against one variant and that there will be other variants. He is already talking about booster jabs before everybody has had a jab. The vaccines alone are not the holy grail, important as they are.

At some point, the value of a therapy will come into play and the Daewoong/AffyXell link seems well placed to cover this. I am not aware of anyone else openly on the therapy route.

Please don't get me wrong, I want the Avacta LFT out there as the gold standard test but I also think that there is a lot more to be taken into account and to be done to get the world out of the mess it is in.

Whilst we await LFT news it might be worth just broadening the thinking here.

Whilst there are some understandable (covid related) frustrations with timescales, there are some other (covid related) timescales to consider:

How long will covid be in the world?
How long does vaccine protection last?
What is the impact of continued variants?
Probably others.

Whatever your answers might be to the above, I doubt that anybody would be confident of saying "soon" or "shortly" or "imminently".

As time progresses with this pandemic, the requirement for appropriate tests and therapies increases.

On the non covid side of this business there isn't the same frustration being evidenced and aside of AVA6000, there are numerous opportunities to resolve cancer treatments for the better throughout the world.

Happy to be shot down but do believe that when talking about timescales there are far broader considerations that require being in the mix.

Hunt: UK needs to have 'plan B'
Jeremy Hunt tells BBC Breakfast the UK needs to have a "plan B" to continue to tackle the pandemic, rather than just relying on the vaccine rollout.

He warns "there will be other variants".

Hunt highlights how the vaccines minister has said in Parliament that there are 4,000 different mutations around the world and one of those could be immune to the vaccines.

"We need to have a plan B, really, that makes sure that having done all of this work with this brilliant vaccine programme, that is by far the most successful anywhere is Europe, that is not then undermined because we suddenly find ourselves subject to a new mutation that is immune to all these vaccines," he says.
