While we are comparing our history here, my holdings starting from 7 years ago had a pretty healthy average but were totally ruined by my buy in May '19 @ 39p - c'est la vie !

I've spent more time and energy following the SOLG story than any other stock I've ever held and a decent buyout price sooner rather than later would finally vindicate that, although I won't be rich like some on here because my holding is very modest, I will simply be richer !

We are in for a few exciting months I feel, gla holding or looking to buy

hi Miagi, all fair points from you. I suppose what I was trying to say, is that most of us seem to think that from October 15th BHP, NCM or another major are going to go for an offer. I hope so. But when does the market do what you think it's going to do was really my point. Maybe on this occasion, the bleedin obvious will actually happen - i.e an offer

zoros, you raise a concern of mine; if you were BHP would you go for a buyout immediately - when the SP may be into the 30s in October, or would you wait a few months for interest to wain, SP fall to maybe the teens, and then strike ? They've waited 2 years, so maybe a few more months won't hurt ?? Who knows.

But if BHP / NCM don't go for it, or any other major for that matter, then the SP could really be in the doldrums for a good while imho because even if future drilling results are good, the market will know that it's likely got until 2025 or longer before it needs to start investing for the production SP uplift.

hi gkb47, that's the part of this crisis I still don't get - why has cancer diagnosis, mental health diagnosis etc etc been neglected? Is it all to do with folk not going to their GPs in he first place to get checked over ? We have heard from the NHS that they remain open for business as usual, but something's gone badly wrong somewhere :(

I get what you say about risk to economy and livelihoods versus health. It's appears to be a no-win scenario :( At the end of the day, we will all have to make our choices as to how we play this.

morning golferboy, I enjoy golf too, and have found that virtually all courses allow visitors nowadays at reasonable green fees. Clubs are desparate for income with so many new clubs having sprung up over the last 40 years in competition with each other, and what I perceive to be dwindling numbers of juniors taking up the sport. Loving the new rule of ready-golf and covid-rule of pins left in the hole.

And I'll pre-empt someone posting 'golf is a good walk spoiled' lol, because whoever wrote it (it wasn't Mark Twain apparently) clearly never strolled around a glorious golf course on a sunny day ! :D
