I'm also in Avacta and the same thought occured to me. However, the consolidation and fundraising has pretty much completely destroyed any immediate prospect of a return in MTFB so far as I can see! Hopefully my gains in Avacta will offset my losses here.

Well done DTW and well said, although it will take a lot more than this to change the BBC's attitude to the government, let alone reintroduce some objective journalism.
The trouble is the BBC hates the Conservatives, this government (which is not perfect - far from it) and Johnson in particular. It hates them for winning the referendum, winning the election and their vaccination success. The BBC does everything in its power to undermine the government and Johnson. Just one example - the Dyson "sleaze" story comprehensively demonstrated to be untrue in every respect by Sir James Dyson was the lead article when published by the BBC. Where is their apology? You'll have to search long and hard to find it.
Sadly, I don't expect much from the BBC when the substantial investment in test and isolate, just getting into its stride, proves to be another success story alongside vaccinations. There will be continued bleating about wasted money and innacurate results compared with PCR. They have not yet grasped that comparing LF with PCR is a classic apples v pears comparison.
That's my rant over!

As ever, don't trust the "buy/sell" notation in the share trade lists. My buy at 0.175 is shown as a sell. Hoping for news by then end of the month/very early May.

DHSC response is completely illogical. Either they are using sub-standard kit for tests or they owe monies legitimately due to ABDX. Either way not a good look for government. Hopefully press reports may prompt a more professional response from DHSC.

I have just suggested to the Daily Telegraph that they investigate this story - effectively DHSC reneging on payment. Anyone else want to contact thier favourite news outlet? Outrageous behaviour by DHSC.

Ref £8BN tender:
The NHS alone employs 1.4m people in the UK, who will all be testing regularly, plus many other government/local authority employees, plus - potentially - some sectors where testing may become mandatory (care homes for example). Testing may be required for these sectors on a daily or every other day basis. Add in schools - approx 9m pupils in the UK, already required to test twice a week. That's a heck of a lot of tests, without allowing for the private sector.
Just playing with numbers - £8BN government tender. Assume cost to government of £5 = 1.6BN units. Divide by 52 = 22m units a week for a year, not far away from NHS plus schools plus other mandatory sectors testing twice a week! And this is UK only.

I have been trying my own short term sales calculations. Based on the very conservative UK capacity mentioned starting at 5m per month and ramping up (NB capacity not demand will be the issue), I calculate we could sell around 65m by end of the year (5m x 3 months plus 10m x 5 months), UK only. EU population is a bit over 6 times that of the UK. Can we sell 6 times as many in Europe (talks with 20 distributors in 25 European countries) in addition? Would take us to over 450m units by the end of the year. All subject to capacity restraints, I know.
Now assume sell at - again very conservative - £5 each. That's a turnover of circa £2BN! OK, so what profit margin? Even if only £1 per unit, that's still pretty impressive against the current market value for the company. Could be lot more. Would undoubtedly eliminate the need for any further fundraising to support development of the therapeutics division - which is where I see the long term value.
Avacta is not a flash in the pan short term opportunity arising out of the pandemic, but the pandemic will be transformational for the company enabling long term growth.
So what figure for a takeover? Pick a multiplier!
