Denmark has suspended use of one batch of the AstraZeneca vaccine after a woman died from blood clots.

Another person, who received a jab from the same batch ABV5300, was also hospitalised with clots.

EU regulator EMA says there is currently no indication

that vaccination has caused these conditions, which are not listed as side effects with this vaccine.

EMA’s safety committee PRAC

is investigating the cases reported with the batch as well as all other cases of thromboembolic events, and other conditions related to blood clots, reported post-vaccination.

The information available so far indicates that the number of thromboembolic events in vaccinated people is no higher than that seen in the general population.

As of 9 March 2021, 22 cases of thromboembolic events had been reported among the three million people vaccinated with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca in the European Economic Area.

Unless I have misunderstood, according to Annex A, none of the approved RAT tests has sensitivity and specificity as good as Avacta's.

In answer to a question on vaccination passports said would probably look at mass vaccination all adults plus LFT for the likes of nightclubs and theatres , the "toughest nuts" that couldn't be opened last year. Also Business likely to look at "on the day testing".

Correction, last line ... diagnostics spun out to concentrate on therapeutics

It strikes me that therapeutics has always been the principal focus for Avacta, with diagnostics and especially C19 as a bit of bonus currently. The website and every RNS always mentions therapeutics first and diagnostics second. I wouldn't be surprised to see diagnostics spun out and sold off to allow concentration on diagnostics.

Delighted to see the continued rise but am a bit concerned that the Reddit/wallstreetbets crowd have apparently turned their attention to small pharma. Does anyone have a view on this? I need US D12.50 before I break even!

Starmer is a master at demanding of the government things that he knows are already planned so he can take credit for "forcing the government's hand" and simultaneously demanding what he knows is impossible so he can later say the government ignored him. That's not opposition , that's opportunism. That's why I can't stand him.
