Interesting to see that the SureScreen contracts include a DHSC 'first refusal' lock-in, similar to the one that is in the current agreement with the UK-RTC expiring on 14 February.

I wonder if, following their experience with the AbC19 test, ODX et al are holding off signing another DHSC contract with that provision in?

Abingdon is still dealing with the fallout from the Deeks/Daily Heil attacks... their share price will bounce around until those matters are put to bed. The fact is, if the UK is to get to 2 million tests a day, it will need all the manufacturing capacity it can get - and that will include Abingdon's.

Can I just note that the Visitect Antigen test will be UKCA marked - it'll only be CE marked as well if ODX registers it with an EU members state competent authority. This can only happen after UKCA marking.

Avacta don't yet have a test to bring to production - they've not even reached design freeze and validation. Lot's of promises but little concrete progress.

The Innova test's EUA will expire shortly. It was also excluded from the recent tender.

Supply will revert to UK domestic supply wherever possible, so the effects of "...being behind the curve..." as you put it will be negligible in the medium to long term.
