"I am not sure about the acceleration to working from home, rather than office based (example) If people under 30 want to work from home generally I would be surprised, how do you meet anyone, who are you going to sha? at the Christmas event - Jokes apart, I think the opposite, humans need human contact, not stuck in a room on Zoom, its bad on many levels. The other point, who is going to use all these offices, buildings and the tens of thousands of SME's that suppport this, pubs, cafes, resturants, street market sellers and on it goes...Humans are not solidarity species."
I think there a potential issue around social contact - but I think that also depends on how your employer supports WFH. One of my employers is very good - we have regular social events (albeit distanced at present) and even pre-Covid many of us worked remotely but got together regularly for social events (normally on the company's dime as well). Our Christmas parties are legendary*.
I think more companies will move to those sort of majority WFH arrangements.
*No - I haven't shagged anyone at one of the office parties - although I may have had the odd snog or two... :-)
