I agree with CP - I don’t think Shaun is looking for a capital raise as why did he defer the Banks for lending only when he needs it. I think fwiw that this is all about the ASX Listing and he wants to reassure UK PI’s (again) that there is nothing sinister underneath. I also agree with Hydro on GGPChat that Newmont have no intentions of selling off Hav/Telfer - they know what is going on down at Hav and how inextricably linked it is to saving Telfer and they will reconfirm this for themselves after the takeover completes - why sell before they have done this? The next question is will they want the whole of Hav for themselves - for an eye watering sum no less!!! These are my musings on what is going on and I hope there is some real good news mixed in with Shaun’s TH - VGLA

Lest anyone has missed the (hugely valuable) point, if Shaun and his team were asleep at the wheel or not all over their job, the super fast issue of an RNS to clarify the inaccuracies that Grant Samuel issued might have decimated our SP even further. This reaction has instead seen a modest rise to our SP and still we have the likes of Tiggerman and Toffers trying to stick the knife into Shaun’s back. I greenbinned both of them awhile back and commend the same to others as frankly their posts are an embarrassment, lacking acumen, understanding of the delicate situation Shaun is in and mainly just selfish posts. When this turns (and it will) where will they be then - joining in the celebrations or left in the shadows where they put themselves?

Fwiw - I am convinced that Shaun and his BoD are working their tails off behind the scenes getting all the right pieces of the jigsaw in place for enacting in exactly the right time and order. They are more than conscious that the NEM takeover of NCM clouds the issues and I’m sure do not want to shoot themselves in the foot by releasing prematurely a revised MRE that they may need/want to then buy out NEM/NCM’s 70% of Havieron plus Telfer. It would be very easy and I dare say tempting for Shaun to jump on a plane to London for a nice “jolly” with all us PI’s and to say what? Anything too informative (which we would all be trying to prise out of him) could again pre-empt the chess game that he is undoubtedly embroiled in. Even if he did come over and hadn’t been working on the revised MRE, the ASX prospectus and listing and capture of more II investors in Oz, then the very people demanding his presence in London would be the first to point the finger at him if he dropped any of the real important balls he is juggling. No one hates the SP forever dropping more than me, but if you invested in GGP based on all the fundamentals (and there are a myriad of positive ones) then you have to let the CEO and his BoD do the job they are employed to do. If they foul up then they get ousted, but until then please try to give them the benefit of the doubt that Shaun has constructed the very team we need to play out this game of chess with NEM/NCM in the best way possible for GGPers. Just my thoughts and please ignore if you wish.
