Hi Panama - I like your post as always. The only thing I would say about Shaun’s MRE if that comes before NCM’s is not so much that it will be “tempered” (that sounds like he would be deliberately conservative), I just think he knows it has to be absolutely accurate (just like the last one he issued) so that NCM have no choice but to approve it (remember it goes to them for prior approval before issue) and then theirs when issued will be very close if not identical. I also believe that Shaun does not want to issue his until he is sure that he’s not shooting himself in the foot by raising the purchase price of NCM’s 70% if he/GGP need to be the ones buying it. There is a massive game of chess at play here imho and I have total faith that Shaun created his BoD packed full of “journeymen (and women)” plus Twiggy Forrest that will assist in getting the best result possible for GGP in the battle against 2 Major players. VGLA!!!

But regardless of what Newmont inherit by absorbing Newcrest, they could still decide to offload Havieron JV/Telfer or presumably either one of them so what’s your point CP?

Thanks Ace and it’s good to see that there are a good number of us who are on the same hymn page. I’m quite happy for Newmont to come onboard and drive this all through to glory!! Bring it on!! If not, we will just have to do it ourselves, perhaps with Wyloo, perhaps with Rio, or perhaps on our own but whatever happens we’re damned near the top of the ore and Newcrest seem content to keep that going - so all good here. Hi Ace - you are absolutely right that Newmont might walk away (like they did from us re: Ernest Giles), however this time, Newcrest have spent a fortune developing Havieron and with Telfer needing to be revitalised with ore therefrom. So I’m not sure I can see them walking away this time especially as we are so close to sourcing the very ore that Telfer needs to keep alive and reduce costs. Overall, are Newmont prone to wasting money by realising a loss or are they more prone to making profits that Havieron could utilise Telfer in achieving? What do you reckon?

Thanks for sharing 96dc2 and like you I take great reassurance from Shaun’s email that what must be a hugely busy period in time for him, that he makes the effort to reply personally to a lowly (no offence intended, just a perspective point) PI, not even a group of PI’s. Hopefully this can shut up the naysayers and reassure all that Shaun (and I’m sure his BoD) are working hard on behalf of ALL shareholders. VGLA.

Grandma Kelladee - if everyone decides not to participate it will likely send a message to the marketplace that nobody believes in 88E and the SP would likely dip further imho. Ashley Gilbert has said that private investors have moaned in the past that we do not get a chance to buy in on equity raises at discounted prices, so has kind of called everyone’s bluff by giving us an opportunity. I have bought mine today but every PI needs to decide what is right for them. Hope this helps.

Sandgrounded’s post at 8.05 am makes the most sense to me coupled with Hiphopopotamus’s one shortly after which basically state that this is a game of chess and we have to rely on Shaun and his hugely experienced enlisted BoD to play out our moves to GGP’s best advantage - that’s what they are paid for so let’s let them get on with it. Big intake of breath whilst this all happens, but no one has stolen our gold and we are ever closer to first ore - VGLA true Greatlanders!!

James - it’s a cross listing on ASX NOT instead of AIM - shouldn’t therefore be a problem for shares bought on AIM
