Dazza - you may be right but what I hold onto is how many drills we have attempted compared to Eagle Ford before they found (mega) success. Every time we fail, we’re closer to the successful find and we only need one. It’s what keeps me going as I believe PB knew his stuff - good luck to all Lthers in whatever they decide to do, but I’m in too deep to turn a paper loss into a real one and who knows, the next drill might be the one!! Sorry to hear you’re out Phron and just want to thank you for all your well thought out, unbiased and valuable opinions. Like Wozzie I’m in too deep to turn a paper loss into a real one. I’ve been lucky that all my losses here have been made up and more by diversifying into GGP from 1.28p to now 24.16p and more to come. Hence I will let 88E ride full term and who knows may even get my money back (LOL!!) All the best Phron and thanks again.

I posted before that another AIM share I invested in saw a “major” walk away and the SP bombed to less than a penny but now 2 news later that same AIM share with a new “major” involved saw 19.5p hit yesterday and much more expected.
I don’t necessarily believe that lightning strikes twice but anyone who believes 88E is dead and buried, could be way off the mark. It was always PB’s involvement and DW’s management skills that I bought into and this rollercoaster may just be ready to reward those who stuck with it. VGLA!!!

Hi Mushroom - you say Gordon Brown introduced “a few stealth taxes” - he was actually known as the “clickety click Chancellor” as they reckon he had actually reached at least 66 stealth taxes in a variety of subtle but swingeing methods to take more and more off the middle and upper classes. Personally rue the day Blair and Brown ever got to power but that’s a whole topic in itself. My point is that wealth (or stealth) taxes have been around for years and will continue to be, they are very rarely retrospective though so we just have to hope nothing adverse comes into effect until Gervaise makes us all very wealthy!! VGLA Greatlanders - hoping September brings us all great joy!!

Bit the bullet and emailed DW for the first time ever yesterday. I stated my view that shareholders need information if only timescales on when previous results can be expected and what Board plans for the future look like. Not sure I expected a response from what others had said on this Board but this is what DW responded word for word: -

My take on the above is that DW is working away in the background and uses latest Presentations as his main form of communication to shareholders. He has some faults (don’t we all?) but I still believe (after meeting him at an AGM) that he is an honourable guy who is doing his best for us all IMHO. Everyone has to make up their own mind on this but to me, this is part of the reason I am still here, as if I thought there was any element that the top man was working for himself only and didn’t give a stuff about his shareholders then I would be off. I also still believe the fundamentals are still there and that PB’s legacy genius prevails - as DW says it takes time. I am prepared to give DW and his BoD the benefit of doubt and more time. VGLA true 88ers in what you decide to do. Red.

Spot on Hydrogen - SB is entitled to invest and de-invest as he pleases but the fact that he is gone and our SP has barely flinched is great reassurance that our shares are sought after. Just because his purchases and sells have an extra nought or two on the end, doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the same concerns over money (need for cash) as we all do. We want II’s to invest and they could do exactly the same, so seeing the SP staying steady-ish is great news. Hold for Gold imho - VGLA !!!

Australia’s largest miner BHP is facing a landmark shareholder push to put a moratorium on all mining activities that threaten to disturb or destroy culturally significant Aboriginal sites - this comes after a widespread community and condemnation of Rio Tinto’s destruction of 46,000 year old rock shelters at Juukan Gorge, Western Australia. If supported by BHP s/holders it could have significant impact on BHP’s growth plans in the Pilbara, but also all Miners.
WA’s Aboriginal Heritage Act is set to be scrapped and replaced by a new Act that will better protect Aboriginal heritage - it’s in its final stages of drafting and will be released soon for final consultation in Parliament.
