Royal Mail is offering shareholders a much reduced dividend despite profits soaring in the pandemic home delivery boom.
The privatised postal group also revealed how fast it expected its international courier arm GLS to grow — annual revenue growth of 12 per cent and profits rising by more than 40 per cent in the next five years — which will inevitably lead to increased speculation that Royal Mail is preparing to spin the business off.

The Board has reviewed the performance of the Group during the past year and concluded that it is appropriate to pay a one-off final dividend of 10p per share in respect of FY2020-21, payable on 6 September 2021 to shareholders on the register at 30 July 2021, subject to approval at the 2021 AGM. The Board expects to announce a new dividend policy for the Group with FY2020-21 results on 20 May.

Baffled. Nice to hear from you. We did indeed have our backs to the wall for a while. Facing Trolls using countless identities for back up. However we are still standing and the experience reminded me that there are good people out there.
I was also reminded of the evil. It was quite unpleasant to realise that some of our number were too open with personal details which were then used against them. I don't agree with your "lily livered" description. After all you made 20% could indeed have been more but could so easily have been lost. I was told by the Trolls that my top ups in the 120's were stupidity. Just shows sometimes it's just a leap of faith into the unknown. Today's drop could well be due to the sea of red today. Markets, commodities etc. That's without considering that the World is suffering on so many fronts. Of course the drop could also be someone cashing their chips in etc.
So many possibilities and the private investor will be the last to know. It's time for a cool head. If history here is anything to go by it could be a slow climb or very sudden and rapid drop.

I recall he sold entire holding around 230p and I reckon he had approx 35,000. He was certainly piling in around 170p. So hopefully he came out O.k financially. I hope so as he stuck it out through some dark days and seemed happy enough when he sold up.

JB, Thank you for the early morning message. To be honest I saw the recommendations on my post and instantly thought it was the LTH's who got the significance of 550p after all there was so much flack from Trolls that 550p is indelibly printed. Clarification was later needed however.
What we have to remember is, although the SP has steam enough. Others may well "pull the rug" and it's very difficult to judge exactly when this might happen. Although I perfectly understand wanting some payback. We're looking at a "bird in the cage"
The good thing is that "holding or folding" is a question based on free will. I wish good fortune irrespective of the decision.

Seems my comment re: 550p may have been misconstrued. I was thinking back to my forecast of 550p for 2020. Ok weeks out but we are very close now.

The volume is a bit different to that shown in the RNS what a pity he missed out on the latest rise :-
Mark Versey, CEO Aviva Investors and PDMR, sold 62,000 ordinary shares, at a price of £3.93 on 16 March 2021.

Av. Has "trickled up" as you put it from 256p in Nov 2020 to 389p today. Many anticipated the 14p dividend plus the prospect of shareholders receiving something extra and have been topping up.
