I can see this is already happening, through work. I know huge sum of government money are being poured in to New forestation, Peat Restoration, rewilding of the countryside and many others, all for their carbon capture benefits.

I don't think this affects PHE though, as their business is recycling non recyclable waste, so the off takes are an added benefit of the process.

If that’s the case, why bother having any open days in the first place? You’re either having them or you’re not, so get the right people there.

Everyone seems certain the test results will be fine, including yourself, so what’s your problem? You tell the interested parties the same information of what is currently in the public domain.

OR, do you then organise more events (taking up critical man hours) because you have a piece of paper to hand out with some results on.

OR, once the results are in, you have large database of interested parties that you can Press Release the results to and follow up for further Bus Dev opportunities

I do think they should outsourced their PR requirements sooner than later. Campaigns take a while to build momentum, so the earlier the better.

They'll be able to target and attract more of the right people across a variety of industries, councils, gov officials, Industry Journalists, Environmental groups, federations, associations, quangos ;)

The PHE team probably don't have the time or expertise to maximise this, so using an external agency will pay dividends.

Presumably the broker will be targeting the financal side.
