I think that the Burnley closure with close to 1200 jobs and the re-ignited news in the media regarding the huge increase in cheap foreign goods coming in to the UK will be linked. It is much anticipated that de minimus will be scrapped and the mention of a strategic partner and ASOS valuation of TOPSHOP (which SHEIN were involved in the bidding process). Also, it would make sense for SHEIN to open a US warehouse as well as having a fully functional highly automated warehouse here in the UK. They just need another brand in the UK which resonates with both UK customers and the US to continue their growth trajectory. Oh look there is PLT which is also for sale from the same group. All the answers are there in my opinion when you put the pieces of the puzzle together. The PLT deal is likely already finalised with both warehouses also being offered to SHEIN as part of the deal.

He won't move for a takeover. The most he has ever spent acquiring a business was House of Fraser for £90m. This will likely cost 5 times that amount. He likely did not expect Finley and Ellis to move so quickly in their turnaround efforts. Imagine a situation where Shein take a 50% JV of PLT for circa £125m. Hopefully this agreeement and valuation could then be extended to the other youth brands. This would likely value all of the youth brands standalone at £500m. DEBS and KM likely to be worth a similar amount too.

Looks like a potential JV with Shein is on the cards with that statement. Would make absolute sense for both parties. SHEIN could utilise the Burnley warehouse and Pennsylvania whilst SHEIN can manufacture for PLT at a cheaper cost and also make use of the UK de minimis whilst it’s still open. SHEIN mitigate risk of their model being defunct and DEBS get a much needed cash injection and a permanent home for their expensive warehouses. This could be massive!

I'd be surprised if Mike gets over 30% here. He is as tight as a duck's ayrus. Only swoops in pre-pack or when it's in adminstration. Might be wrong here though with his lust for Debs and personal vendetta against Mahmud.

Depends how much value we can get from disposals. With the time frame on the credit facility and the cost savings as well as more property disposals we are no longer a cash strapped business. We can command market value for our assets. The key is how we re-invest that capital back in to the business.

Mahmud and Carol usually buy in cohorts. Let's see if Mahmud wants to reach into his deep pockets this time. Adanola recently valued at £400m on only £57 million revenue. PLT is still producing circa £400m revenue and still has massive potential in the right hands. £40m is a joke Glowacki.

They've got headroom which is the main thing. The way they talked about PLT being a global fashion leader at scale and the Topshop valuation, will likely mean PLT will be sold north of £200m if that is what they are comparing the valuation to. It would make sense if they could package the whole deal with the US distribution centre, Burnley and PLT. Looks like all of them would fit into SHEIN's business.

I enjoyed watching Finley. Ellis was like watching paint dry. Interesting they made note to the Topshop sale and the value achieved. PLT will not be sold on the cheap. SHEIN will likely pay a premium to acquire this and let's face it. They are the best brand to take all of the youth brands at the moment.
