Major stock indexes traded mixed in premarket hours on Monday as investors braced for a week full of economic and business events. Both the European Central Bank and the Bank of England are set to reveal their latest monetary policy decisions on Thursday. Additionally, global markets will closely watch the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, to be released on Wednesday. In business, major European companies, including Deutsche Bank, Santander, BNP Paribas, and auto industry giants Volkswagen, Stellantis, and Mercedes-Benz, are due to report their quarterly earnings throughout the week.
The DAX added 0.14%, while the FTSE 100 declined 0.12% at 8:00 am CET. The Euro Stoxx 50 traded flat, and the CAC 40 improved 0.15%.
Both the euro and the pound were flat against the dollar, trading at $1.17231 and $1.35340, respectively, at 7:58 am CET.
