Europe set for higher open amid earnings, data6 May 2026 07:03
European stocks are set to open higher on Wednesday as investors weighed the latest financial reports from companies across the Old Continent. BMW, Novo Nordisk, Lufthansa, Philips and Daimler Truck all reported their quarterly earnings earlier today. Traders also anticipated fresh industrial production figures from France, and producer price index (PPI) readings from the euro area, as well as reports on composite PMI from the United Kingdom, Germany and the Eurozone.
At 8:02 am CET, the DAX increased by 0.9% as the CAC 40 gained 1.04%. At the same time, the FTSE 100 added 1.2%, while the Euro Stoxx 50 improved by 1.07%.
Both the euro and the pound traded 0.35% higher against the dollar at 7:59 am CET, going for $1.17329 and $1.17345, respectively.
