Well, I would certainly be disappointed with 22p and an unreliable set of CVRs.

Not that I know much about CVRs in general.
Could someone explain how CVRs work, how reliable they are and perhaps an example or 2?

This is a very interesting mab developed by Scancell with help from Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, Barcelona.

It targets SSEA-4 which is present on memory stem T Cells.
The idea is that the mab causes clonal expansion of the memory stem T Cells. This clonal expansion in turn results in differentiation into other types of memory T Cells ( central memory (TCM) and effector memory (TEM) T cell).

Now it occurs to me that just boosting the numbers of memory T cells is a good way of ensuring that, once the immune system has successfully fought off a disease, any increase in the numbers of memory T Cells should help in preventing a recurrence.

But, in addition to this, the poster also has the following 2 conclusions

1) 2811+ T cells are potential candidates
for genetic manipulation to express
antigen specific TCRs or CARs.
2) 2811 is a potential T cell agonistic
mAb

By 2) I take it to mean that mab 2811 could be used to activate T Cells.

So, mab 2811 also seems to increase the survival capacity of T Cells.

It sounds like a very versatile mab.
It was mentioned in CH's last presentation but only with a sentence or two.

Let's hope Scancell comes good before Doomsday.

It was definitely considered to be the wrong path during the original SCIB1 trial. Otherwise a deal would have been struck.
No doubt Scancell are still considered to be on the wrong path by some pharmas, others may be having second thoughts.
The Modi1 trial may change minds.

In the end, I don't think they tried to win the competition for the reasons I stated. Not an official withdrawal.
But, as I also said, we will never know.
I agree that SCLP has yet to capture the imagination of many investors.
But that is good if you are brave.

It one of the frustrations of being a SCLP investor that you know that there's lots going on but you don't get to know the current state of the many projects.

I think some got carried away with it, including myself.
But the clues were there on the Trinity report. Problems about dividing the money between the team members. How much would be left for Modi3 development? Problems about who owns the IP especially with BionTech and Genentech in the mix?
Asking Lindy to manage the work of a rather large bunch of professors.

I think it was Ruck who said that the whole project was an unnecessary distraction. He was right.

I think Scancell pulled out of the GC. Only a thought and we will never know.
On Modi1, no, it is by no means a dead cert. If it was, we'd all be celebrating.
So there's just the question of transferring the 100% results in mouse experiments to a human trial.We all know that is trivial NOT.

Lindy was once asked "Can you guarantee that results in mouse experiments can be replicated in human trial?" or words to that effect.
Her short answer was "Absolutely Not".
So, no matter how much you humanise the mice and no matter how many tests you make on human blood "in vitro" you can never be sure.

I agree with just about everything you say.
IMO, the fallback back to 5p was due largely to the disappointing non-event of the SCIB1 combo trial starting but no patients being so far recruited.
This decline was not even stopped by the announcement of 2 Avidimab collaborations.
In fact the 2nd announcement looked like is was going to be a damp squib until the Vulpes top-up.
But, I do believe we are now in better shape now in terms of game changing News events. Not just yet but in the next 12 to 18 months.
In the meantime, I wonder if CH has checked the Scancell bank account.

But in the case of Modi1, would they take a pre-clinical deal or wait for clinical data?
What gives them the better deal?

C7, IMO Vulpes got their timing right but they needed some luck to do that.
They couldn't have known back in 2015 that they would have the chance to pay just 5p for the Scancell of today with products further advanced and a collaboration with BionTech, plus a possible shift in attitude towards cancer vaccines by big pharma.
The recent top-up was also in the light of a further 2 collaborations.
But they also know that there are no certainties in this sector.

I think all the money spent on R&D has been tremendously well spent.
The thing that I find frustrating is the gap between the growing list of products and the clinical results.

I'm not talking about the efforts made to do a SCIB1 deal, just the lack of a plan if they couldn't make a deal.
The share price was high back then so why not use that fact to raise money to progress the pipeline.
It's likely to be seen as hindsight but I definitely thought that at the time. Crack on regardless.

Yes, the BOD have a lot to answer for

1) Complacency that the SCIB1 trial would lead to a deal
2) No plan B for getting the SCIB1 combo trial going sooner and with more centres
3) Leaving SCIB2 on the shelf for too long

Even recently, we have seen CH unaware of how long the cash will last and being corrected by JC.

On the other side of the coin, we can be thankful that Lindy and her teams continue to make great progress. It would be interesting to show the value of the IP against the SP. But then again, IP value is very subjective.
The risks are obvious but the rewards could be tremendous, not just to SHs but, more importantly, to all cancer sufferers.

We are now in H1 2020 and we were promised the start of the Modi1 trial in this Half Year. Tomorrow please Scancell.
