Assuming a phase 1/2 trial is successful, IMO the ideal would be to partner with a big pharma to progress into phase 3, hopefully with a load of government money. In order to expedite that partnership, I would hope that Scancell have already had preliminary discussions.

As Chester points out, whilst Scancell are waiting for the delivery peptides to be tested they may as well spend time improving the actual vaccine. The improvement probably involves adding new S protein antigens for the vaccine to target without deleting the existing ones.

I would think that once Scancell are happy with the delivery they will run with the vaccine they have at that time.

IMO, the aspect of Covidity (or whatever it ends up being called) that could possibly make it really stand out is the attack of the N protein by those very high avidity T Cells. I am hoping that this in itself is enough to clear infected cells. The high avidity means that once the T Cells attach to their target they are more likely to stay attached until the job is done.

That doesn't mean to say that Covidity's S protein T Cells and antibodies will not work but they will be affected by S protein changes in the same way that current approved vaccines are.

One of the key ideas of Immunobody is the Antigen presenting cells get informed about the antigens to attack from two different sources.

a) directly from the Vaccine entering the APC
b) Indirectly via Antibodies ejected by the soft muscle cells that the vaccine has also entered.

This has the effect of activating the appropriate TCells with very high avidity. I would imagine that the addition of Avidimab increases the avidity even further. It also has the effect of creating stronger clonal expansion of the activated TCells.

The fact that Prof Bates tagged his tweet with #lastleg may hopefully mean that the delivery method development is going well.

As I understand it, Scancell are using a nanoparticle for delivery but that nanoparticle needs the appropriate peptides attached to effect entry into cells.

So 3 components

a) the vaccine
b) the nanoparticle that helps to protect the vaccine and reduces degradation of the vaccine
c) the peptides that are attached to the nanoparticle which in turn attach to the appropriate cells.

The great aspect of the development of Covidity, is that if successful, it give two great additions to the Immunobody platform

a) The addition of Avidimab
b) A delivery method that should be common to all Immumobody vaccines

This will not only improve Immunobody cancer vaccines but any designed for infectious diseases as well.

Immunobody vaccines need to gain access to soft muscle cells as well as Antigen presenting cells.
The SCIB1 trial achieved this by using the Ichor device which gives a mild electric shock but enough to disrupt cells membranes and hence allow access to the vaccine.
Scancell cannot use the Ichor device for a Covid19 vaccine since it would be simply too expensive.
So the delivery method for Covidity uses peptides which are designed to allow attachment to the appropriate cells and the entry into the cell follows.

Firstly the delivery method has to be finalised first. There has been no news on this.
Secondly, we don't know for certain whether it is safe and works on humans.
If you listen to Lindy she has never claimed success of a vaccine until tested in a clinical trial. In the recent Modi1 talk she pointed out at least twice that working on humanised mice is not the same as working on humans. She has always gone out of her way to state this.

I would suggest that being "science led" is exactly what any vaccine requires and, in this case, the science of the delivery is crucial.

To me the great news is that Lindy's relentless quest to cure cancer is set to get a further boost by opening a new lab looking at further translational modifications.
Also there seemed an optimistic tone about finally getting cancer trials going again this year.
There is still the possibility of having 3 trials in progress by year end.
