Accepting that, is there anything fundamentally new? It seems to have been a question of job losses or reduced hours anyway.

From a shareholders perspective, it is a responsible cash-preserving move to make. And I imagine in relative terms it will not be particularly difficult to bring staff back cost-effectively as the downturn recedes.

I am guessing that it is in the tech and infrastructure needed to feed the networks with a proposed gas mix, though I am technically inept. I keep harking back to this, an emphasis on green stuff, in which hydrogen has a place. It is apparent they are waiting for the take-up they see as being around the corner.

The 25th. November is a date to bear in mind and should see the chancellor's spending review include statements on infrastructure spend as a means of stimulating the economy through the construction industry.

I do not suggest that at all. Costain has an interest in hydrogen, things green, probably on the industrial/supplier side. As per. their recent RNS they say they are positioned for future prospects.

I do not know but I expect there is a fair bit of catch-up going on at the moment. I hope the supply chain holds up, but people are more tuned in to Covid working practices now. But profit taking around the place for a day or two at the moment.
