RE: Gold25 Jan 2026 17:34
Ashton – is that really the case?
I can find no evidence on the MLSA portal showing that 80 Mile currently holds a licence relating to GOLD at Thunderstone.
As you state - historically, Bluejay held licences MEL 2020-03 and MEL 2020-22 for the Thunderstone project, located in the Kujalleq province in southern Greenland. The MLSA portal has a comprehensive search facility (by licence number, company name, region, etc.), so I searched:
by Bluejay and 80 Mile,
by licence number,
by Kujalleq, and
across the entire southern region.
The only licence I can locate is MEL 2020-03, to which you refer, but that lists zinc and tin as the commodities being sought and covers 1,014 km². MEL 2020-22 does not appear at all, which is why I’ve emailed the MLSA directly for clarification.
At present, there is no reference to gold in any Thunderstone-related licence(s) held by 80 Mile that is visible on the MLSA portal.
For anyone who wishes to check for themselves, the MLSA database is here:
https://portal.govmin.gl/license
It’s straightforward to use and doesn’t take long. If anyone finds a “live” licence held by 80 Mile for Thunderstone that lists gold, perhaps they could post the details.
While licences can, in theory, be amended to include additional commodities, the more important question remains: has 80 Mile fulfilled its work obligations under the existing licence terms?
LITT’s AI-generated output is demonstrably inaccurate — 80 Mile does not hold the licence area stated in his claims. Likewise, assertions that 80 Mile is the only “big hitter” operating in Greenland overlook Amaroq, which is far more advanced in its gold project, already active on ground close to 80 Mile’s, and progressing towards actual gold production. Has LITT forgotten to inform his AI crutch about Amaroq?
Given that context, it’s reasonable to ask: why wouldn’t the Greenland authorities favour a group like Amaroq for Thunderstone if 80 Mile fails to meet its licence obligations or ultimately loses the remaining licence it has on expiry?
