The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Libero - It's an easy read, but probably not overly detailed I how I would summarise it. Had a few interesting pointers from it to explore investments. There's often a "beginners" piece in there so covers a broad spectrum of investors. For it's cost, £125 p.a. I think? I'd say worth it. You also get Live prices on their site with the membership so I find that useful. I only started taking it back in April. It's online only, which means you never have a delayed edition in the post, but personally, I much prefer hard copy for reading / digesting. Hope that helps.
Maddog - maybe you clicked the link about tea time?
Oooo, has anyone else clicked on the link at the bottom of the Shares Mag write up (follow the link in Libero post).
Then click the "here": READ MORE ABOUT NOVACYT HERE
I'm a Shares Mag subscriber and when logged in it doesn't work for me but... the link points off the a Numis site / link that fails to load. Is this the Broker Note referenced elsewhere as out today?
This placing was NOT underwritten. Thats what I read in the RNS. I guess they knew it not worth paying anyone to underwrite as they knew it would be massively oversubscribed am(as was briefed this morning to be the case). All bodes well.
So, further to the chat this morning, I've checked in with II on their stance to taking Open Offer shares outside of a "Maxed out" ISA and here is their reply:
Thank you for your secure message.
The only way you would be able to take
advantage of the offer in your ISA is by selling securities to make cash
available. Open offer sub shares (the shares you accept the offer on) are
non-transferable securities so you wouldn't be able to transfer your ISA sub
shares to your trading account in order to accept the offer on your ISA portion
of sub shares in your trading account.
You might be thinking of a rights issue,
where you are able to transfer your nil-paid rights to your trading account and
take advantage of the offer from your trading account. Nil-paid rights are
trade-able so it is possible to move them between accounts.
So that looks to be a "No" from them as I expected.
No, they wont... but we may just save them! If we can make enough that is... UK FIRST!
Punit - "only natural" No it's not. That is SO wrong... it should only ever got to it's theoretical ex-rights price with the new shares in issue net of the cash paid for said shares which should be a weighted average between yesterday and the position with the new shares in place.
However, we know that the market is not perfect so there will be some variation on that...
If placing for "bad" reason it may head towards or below the placing, although if for "good" reason, i.e. here! It shouldn't go near it, and the market should most likely wake up to the reality that this is a COMPANY MAKER placing, and respond appropriately... after bed wetters have left that is...
Just taken another 1k shares at £2.05 - they'll look nice in a few month time1... takes my average up a little though... from 50p... :-)
Oh, now I can buy £1k worth but @ £2.06, or £10k @ £2.07
Yes it looks like they want your shares. NT to buy even £1k. Tried dummy sell, and offered £2.01 for 6,000 shares...
Time to hold strong and relax... buy any dips and pick up those meagre offering share entitlements.
Hmm, ill ask broker tomorrow on my side. I have Trading/ISA/SIPP all with II so if this is viable I can get funds in to Trading but it just doesn't feel right that they can just "transfer" into ISA funds that are in technically in additional to the annual allowance. Im not for one moment questioning you having achieved it but I'm also pretty certain that you as an individual remain liable (from HMRC perspective) to ensure you've not over committed funds in any one year and this looks to be just that.
I participated in ODX and AVCT too when they happened but had funds available in ISA wrapper to do so at the time.
I agree we should be focusing on the theoretical post placing price by taking current position with the new position weighted by price/volume.
Seems many are expecting price to crash to or through 175p as a result of placing. This "shouldn't" happen but there's a chance if it fits for those in a position to move the SP...
I recall ODX placing at 40p price actually crashed through to 30s but now since shot up and last week over 100p...
I expect some fun and games here but long term this is good news and will propell the company / products and importantly for us investors the SP to a new level - just not in a straight line!
Are you sure you can add additional funds to ISA in current year if you've already maxed out £20k allowance? I'm in this situation and no free cash in ISA but I'd be very (pleasantly) surprised if I'm allowed to introduce further funds to capitalise on the Placing eligibility.
Can you point me to and Authority/source on this?
Looks like the original tweet has been deleted and replaced. First 2 links in this thread don't show the tweet any more. Seems that the " " have been removed, and one has to wonder if he's been given an instruction to remove them to make them his words rather than a copy/paste from legal team? I wouldn't want to be him right now. Just goes to show the power and dangers of using Social Media whilst it can be a great platform to grow a following and build a career it can also decimate one even faster!
@golferboy - It would be helpful if the link in their email was correct! My registration email takes me to the new-event link!
@Wilson - I'm finding that Chrome does NOT work... I've moved to MS Edge (first time ever) and I've finally got the Code request screen, now it tells me "Your registration has not been approved yet."
If your email link is taking you to https://novacytagm.eventitdept.com/access/new-event change new-event to "login" but not in Chrome as that looks to repoint it to "new-event".
This was my email after registering:

Then a button "make Site"! No mention of a code, and I'm certainly not looking to make a site!
Just managed to get registered via MS Edge, Chrome application is still stuck. Got an email with link to log in but can't see any code? Does this come separate? The login screen following this link is requesting User/PW neither of which were requested or set up...?
Unexpectedly able to make the AGM, so trying to register. Did anyone find the registration page button just go grey and go no further?
I've loaded up the login link too in readiness and that's asking for username and password, but others are quoting a code required?
Interesting update but a bit of a mess of an RNS with copy/paste from the previous one leaving in text about autonomous drone delivery etc...
