I only have one discount voucher left and it's a long time till October. Got two lots by mistake last year. Did get a general customer discount voucher though to use by the end of March I think £3 off a £10 I think spend. When the decs don't come down by Twelfth Night you need to leave up till Candlemas 2nd February or bad luck. LOL I still have the fake snow on a couple of glass doors - easy to get off windows for some reason but an indoor door in centrally heated house means the glue sticks fast. Ah well that's one excuse truth is the kids fingerprints don't need to be washed off the doors every day as the snow hides them. OH the pits here. The trouble is that my local Thorntons is getting further and further away. The prize money from that till receipt competition is £1,000 but, whisper it in case there are any MMs reading, there's no way I'd buy any more of these until there are definite signs that it has stopped falling. I know what you mean about the aisle width being narrow in the economy shops like the Card Factory but all the Clinton's I have been in are quite spacious. In the Card Factory, there is not room for a browser when a pushchair or wheelchair is in the aisle or even pedestrian traffic coming from the opposite direction. I liked Birthdays. Nice wedding stationery with two horseshoes intertwining to close shut. Came home to find Christmas decorations still up beyond twelfth night so must leave up till Candlemas now to avoid bad luck. Small bar in the centenary box (Crudo choc block) is a bit dark and bitter for me but have finished all the Heritage side - 2 each of Caramel Cup, Almond Rocher, Lemon Manon, Grand Marnier, Rio Butterscotch and Noisette. Taking your advice and intend to spend less time on these boards. And the girls in the Kilmarnock branch were absolute stars throughout Christmas trading always with a cheerful smile for customers even although the branch will close this month. The other day the staff at a closing branch told me to try my luck at a competition entry from my till receipt, If it's a cash prize and I win then I'll buy some more shares here. They need to join forces with clinton cards and share floor space. Bought a pair of 4-7 skates in Argos for son for Christmas morning - too small. Giving them to daughter Got a pair of size 8 in JJB. wouldn't buy this. All my Christmas cards this year bought and received were charity cards and more and more people are choosing to send greetings on line. When I do buy greetings cards, I use a small independent shop on my High Street for special relatives and friends and Supercard when I want a cheap card. Sorry. Need to look at sharing floor space with a company like Thorntons imo if it wants to survive.

The wonde box of Thorntons arrived this morning along with two extra centenary baubles with the year 2011 displayed on them. Somebody suggested I should embroider the year on the centenary teddy before handing it over to the baby but it does say on its foot Thorntons centenary year. The chocolate box is beautiful. Individually numbered out of 250 and there can't be too many left Well packaged too with inflated polythene. The chocs look too special to ear. The box is a shiny wooden box possibly rosewood which is a match for my dining furniture but I was actually thinking of going more contemporary furniture wise sometime soon and moving away from the darker woods. Apparently this box is very intricately decorated with silver inlay and not sure if it is wooden. 2012 Averaging down. Well there are a couple of shares I think I can sell and rebuy cheaper possibly more than once if I feel so inclined. That's my order in for the £100 wonder box and 2 centenary baubles so you can't say I don't do my bit for the company here. Alas the ceramic toffee kabin had been reduced to less than half price and were sold out on-line but there may still be some stores with stock. Heavens the 3 packets of toffee would have been good value enough without the ceramic money kabin. At the end of the day, the wonder box was so special that the company would not send it free by standard delivery which they offer for orders over £50 and it seems it was not possible to deliver it to a branch for me to collect there but at the end of the day I was only charged £1 to name the day of delivery so quite pleased. Let's hope my faith in Thorntons and customer and shareholder loyalty pays off.

I am considering buying one of the limited edition of 250 £100 boxes of 28 chocs made for the centenary. I thought I would qualify for freen postage for an order over £50 but this item can only be sent via premium delivery so still p & p to pay. I think the stores near me are sold out of the centernary baubles but I can get them on-line and want to buy a couple as it displays the year 2011 for the new gran and new mum. The centernary teddy doesn't have 2011 on it. Off on holiday soon. Our schools broke up late but we are getting more time off at the start of the new year. Busy festive season. Blimey Bonz I thought this had stabilised a bit. Anyhow grand nephew born today at 10 am - same day as my own boy and another of the babies great aunts and I am just back from a school quoir service at the church when my brother's widow arrived with the news that she is now a gran. I was going to place a couple of merry tunes but the share price isn't exactly lending itself to In dolce Jubilo or Solstice Bells so I'll just leave it and say Merry Christmas. Yeah was chatting about thorntons on other boards. They are are a manufacutrer as well as a retailer and, as you know, have many outlets for their goods though not obviously all the ranges that the stores stock. Unlike hmv, tht have a lot of full timers who have been with them for many years so redundancy costs will be high. I was also mentioning the poster hoper who spoke about buying in here a little while ago well at least I warned that it might not have stopped falling. My top up advice in the summer against my own better judgment came mainly from Netley that wonderful BP proponent - niche retailer and all that. Just goes to show the only voice you should listen to is your own lol. Always get a bit nervy when non holders post news on the board as it usually means there is a fresh influx of shorters and I gather we can't get graphs now on data explorers unless we become corporate members but I will of course check that out for myself. Snap I posted my cards 2nd class today too and think/hope the majority of them will still bet there on time. Founds some Wallace and G stamps from last year.
