The short answer to your question is no I have no such experience of a company doing this. However, maybe it's as well you could only buy less than 100,000 given the way this has been pulled back again over the last few weeks. I did visit the Thorntons outlet at McArthur Glen in Livingston and the Thorntons cafe for the first time recently and reported on here as it was an enjoyable day out and a nice experience at Thorntons. It was a Sunday and therefore busy. Not sure about how it is on weekdays but like you say probably a stopping place for tourists on coach trips. And Bonz 1957 has been here a lot longer than me. And Sid Madrid who only posts now and again has been here longer than me. There's only a couple of posters post on here with any degree of regularity - one of whom - is a premium chat member so I am certainly not that poster. And each of the other posters, I have had differences of opinion with at times. Please name my clones on here. I've been keeping an eye on your posting history and you accused posters on BKIR of being my clones. BKIR is a board I have never even posted on and a company I have never been invested in. If you remember, I said that I would look at SCLP if my sell order at SXX triggered during my Easter holidays. I managed to get 22.77 on Monday which was available for 15 minutes only between 8 and 8.15. It's now gone below the recent placing price of 18p and I really don't know about the Jorc scheduled for later this month there now giving me enough confidence to buy back in there. Too many planning and funding issues still to be resolved. But SCLP are doing good work so we might be chatting sooner rather than later x

I simply retaliated that's all. If you prefer then I can say that agema's comment in April that the thorntons share price would double in 2012 is spot on. I've got the shares and I'm holding. I don't therefore need to keep monitoring the price and posting here hoping for a fall to buy back in - that's what you need to do though in order to hope to achieve your state buy back price. So as it's a nice day, I'll read Rambarn's very laudable post and then enjoy the rest of the day. Have a great summer ATB

You'll not take offence. That's big of you. I do take offence though at you calling me a ramper and think you owe me an apology. You're the one who has ramped and deramped here to suit your personal position here at any given time. If you had posted in a balanced fashion like I have here over the past month then I would value your opinion but you haven't. If you have genuine concerns about Thorntons then you shouldn't be looking to buy back in at any price. Then again, it's a few short weeks ago since you made the sweeping statement that this would double in price in 2012. I was the poster commenting on the extent of store closures here and the effect on sales if the supermarkets, franchises, corporate and on-line sales didn't rise (but they have) to compensate. I was the one saying that my two most local stores had closed since the start of the year. However, like other posters have tried to point out to you - sales are vanity and profit is sanity. It would be nice for the High Street in Kilmarnock and Irvine to still have a Thorntons branch but if they don't make profit then that's tough for me and I need to buy in Silverburn, Ayr or East Kilbride instead or on-line or in the supermarket. You're also aware of cocoa and sugar prices dropping so that's why your hanging about here. Maybe you're not so silly after all lol.

It's a nice sunny day in my neck of the woods. Is there not an easier and more honourable way for you to try to earn a crust than making yourself look silly on this bb.
